I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t worth $174.23 for one night. Something just felt off about it. Checkin... (we had a rather late check in. 10pm-ish) The lobby was nice. The young lady behind the counter was not professionally dressed but her attitude and was very professional. She was personable and informative with the questions I asked. Ice cold water with lemon slices in the lobby. Our room. The bathroom appeared clean and well kept. It was well stocked with towels and toilet tissues. Water pressure for the sink was obviously restricted to a trickle for both hot and cold water. However the shower was wonderful! Easily controlled water temp, great water pressure with a rain type shower head. Floor and toilet were both clean. Living area. Nice couch/ with ottomans and desk/chair. Sleeping area. Stains on the sheets looked like mascara or something. Pulled the covers down and was not pleased to see 4 hairs in the bed that my husband swept to the floor. Not pleased that he didn’t let me take a picture. The bed was very comfy though. The pillows were ok.
Different gal at the front desk didn’t know where the laundry was. Once my husband found it, the laundry area was out of order. The gal at the front desk offered to and did, dry our clothing in the staff laundry.
Breakfast was a variety of sausage links, eggs, variety of bagels/English muffins. Waffles plain/blueberry. Only regular syrup. Juices, milk. Coffee.
There was a light broken in the elevator. The “Do Not Disturb” placards for the doors are obviously old and should...
Read more4:00 check in time is unacceptable. It is not rocket surgery – service vacated rooms first, allow guests in when they arrive. This does not cost the motel anything extra, it is just better management. ||There were no USB charging stations.||The rooms at Comfort Suites East were properly designed with a solid bathroom door that locks. We have been thoroughly disappointed by the recent trend to translucent, unlockable sliding bathroom doors. Our double queen room was large and fully equipped: big TV with lots of channels; fast enough WiFi with no password; desk with office chair; microwave; a couple of large drawers; sofa; upholstered chair; closet with door and wooden hangers; luggage rack; padded footstools/coffee tables; controllable HVAC unit under the window; night stand between the queen beds; fairly effective black out curtains, plenty of lights; iron and ironing board; enough counter space in the bathroom; hair dryer; coffee maker; ample hot water in the shower. Room did not meet my definition of a suite, but there is a partial room divider between the beds and sitting area. ||We suffered repetitive problems with magnetic strip key cards in a couple of rooms, might take ten tries to properly scan, sometimes we would get the green light, but the door handle wouldn't “catch”. Our bed was short sheeted, I hate to have to remake a motel bed. Included breakfast was standard Comfort Suites fare: three kinds of dry cereal; DIY waffles; bagels; scrambled eggs; sausage; yogurt, and more, I found it...
Read moreWater faucet in the bathroom would only provide a small dribble of water either hot or cold. It appeared that the faucet feed valves might be corroded to a point that water flow was restricted. Obviously no one from the hotel staff check the basic bathroom functions-this check should be a standard procedure after every room turn around prior to any next use. Only one small bar of soap was provided for a multiple day stay.
The available breakfast was very limited with respect to yogurt and small pastries. In addition, the standard fair of gravy was not provided. This is a standard concern for all sites.
We travel a lot all over the US and try to stay exclusively at Comfort Inns. I realize the use of standard breakfast menus is a management necessity, but I can’t help but wonder if Choice Hotels have ever completed a country wide sampling of travelers and transient workers likes and dislikes with respect to what can be reasonably provided. Perhaps a bit of seasonal or periodic change might be well received.
Two other quick system wide notes: ditch the small little pillows. They are not comfortable and are a pain to use.
Provide two waffle makers per site-waffles one of the most popular items. Also locate them in a spot by themselves since they tend to cause a traffic jam with other activities as people wait for their waffles.
We will continue to stay at Comfort Inns, but hope that a step back review of a prime traveler benefit can be accomplished...
