Thien has been wonderful, and I mean that. My profile picture accurately and comedically portrays the kind of pain I was in before working with him.
I am a gigging drummer, music instructor, and frequent weightlifter. Due to these activities that I do, alongside the arduous trials of life, I have developed a lot of postural issues and muscular imbalances. Thien fixed me up. I need to go back for more sessions.
It was a bit intimidating for me at first to undertake this, because I’ve never done anything like this before; however, he made it a very pleasant experience because he’s very conversational. Talking about life, our shared experiences in music, and our ethnic issues (which is just a cherry on top) makes all of our sessions a wonderful time while he is surgically pinpointing your structural issues.
His goal is to “help fix you up and so you never come back here again;” however, I honestly just wanna go back just to hang (of course though, I will still have issues with my posture, even though these exercises are really helping).

   Read moreI sought treatment due to TMJ Disorder, which causes tension in my head, face, jaw and neck. I felt my body has been out of balance for quite sometime and heard good things about myofascial release techniques. I’m so glad I found Thien! He truly is phenomenal at his craft. After the first 30 minutes session I felt like many of the muscles in my head and face had opened up. He also spent time with me discussing the importance of good posture and I have been working on it ever since! For my next session which was a full hour, Thien worked on my whole body, relieving many areas of tension. When finished, I felt more balanced and like a pressure/weight had been taken off me. We discussed what areas of my body are overworked and the ones that are weak and need to be strengthened. Thanks to Thien, I have now started focusing on my overall health and well-being, daily practicing good posture and strengthening my body. My TMJ disorder has also improved.    Read moreThien listened carefully to my backstory of neck/back pain and discomfort, which was appreciated because most physical therapists or massage therapists do not take the time to hear and consider the full background in detail before starting treatment.
Thien then provided advice about posture, habits, weightlifting form (I do strength training regularly) that is useful beyond the immediate massage therapy session, since it is the daily habits that can influence the extent of my symptoms in the long-run.
The massage therapy treatment itself did not take the full hour, although Thien provided very targeted massage therapy, it was highly effective for getting to the muscle knots that needed to be addressed.
The building has an area containing a bunch of gym equipment as well. Thien suggested that it may be good to do a weightlifting form check, although in the end we ran out of time for this.
Unfortunately I'm not a permanent resident of the area, so I could not schedule any follow-up sessions. But if I were, I would definitely return for another...
