You would think that since businesses like Chinese stores are on every other block these guys would provide even the slightest customer service in order to remain competitive...
Well, guess again.
So I decided to order duck for the first time. It is a bit pricey compared to my usual meals of Egg Foo Yung. This order, like most comes with a side of rice. I order and within a reasonable time they deliver my order.
When I get my food, the white rice is missing. A simple mistake, it happens no big deal...
I call up and explain that my rice is missing. They tell me that the delivery driver will return and bring me the order, I say okay and wait... and wait... and wait...
I realize perhaps it is a busy night so I am understanding, but a wait more and about 45 minutes past and no food. The store is not THAT far from my location so I call again.
They person on the phone tells me that the delivery driver is on his way. Happy to hear this, I say "thank you" and wait longer.
It is well over an hour and still nothing. I wait.. and wait... and wait.
I think that even if they are busy, putting me on the backburner to another order is still inappropriate, seeing how they messed up my order in the first place.
I realize that the lady on the phone was lying because they would have been here by now, so I finally realize they weren't coming and drive to the store.
I demand my food or a refund of my money, they tell me that the delivery man is on his way. Knowing it is their "go to" line I am not convinced, but I finally get a call from home and told that the food had arrived around the time I get to the store.
The delivery man wordlessly and unapologetically handed the rice to them.
I WILL NOT be visiting this business again, I urge others to stay away from them.
Small businesses are not franchises and have little incentive to do better, let us hold them to a standard... let's not allow them to take advantage of people and not give our dollars.
Joy Wok, thanks for ruining my first time...
Read moreI found this place because my first choice, Chipotle was hoppin' so hard I didn't want to mess with the line. I looked through the list of nearby restaurants and saw "Joy". I needed some so I bit. So the parking lot is 4 cars large and I missed the turn-in, but parked right beside it in another lot. I walked in and saw it looked like every other quick service Chinese place, large counter, menu with huge squares of pictures with no prices. There wasn't any food smell, so that was interesting. The woks over burners extended down the right wall. I ordered the Spicy Tofu Broccoli with garlic and 2 spring rolls. I grabbed 3 chopsticks on the way out. When I got home, I unwrapped the food and it looked really good. The broccoli florets and firm tofu were large pieces while the garlic was in slivers. The sauce wasn't spicy like set-my-mouth-on-fire, but flavorful. The rice was disappointing in that it was plain white enriched rice. I could tell by the familiar childhood rice smell. I loved eating my dishes with the chopsticks as the pieces were easy to pick up. Summary 1 star for good flavor 1 star for nice hostess 1 star for being a good enough experience that I will go back. -1 for cold building, even the workers had on coats -1 for a rundown and seemingly...
Read moreI am sorry.. you seem like hard working business people, but here is my honest review.
Today was my cheat day from healthy eating all week.. i had the general tso which is my favorite. I'm so disappointed.. it's also my 1st time being served general tso without broccoli. The egg roll was fine and chicken. My review is harsh but honest. For the benefit of your business and future customers, if you are able to, please do better. We all work hard...
