I really like Edwards Food Giant. It's an Arkansas-based chain, and its store on Cantrell in Little Rock is sparklingly clean and well-organized, has helpful and courteous staff, and stocks local items that are hard to find in other local stores -- Arkansas-made Petit Jean ham and bacon, for instance; cheese straws by Janis and Melanie; Texas-made Mrs. Renfro's chow-chow; Louisiana products like Camellia beans and Zatarain's items. As we wandered today looking for things, one of the cashiers who had no one waiting at her till spotted us and took her time to come up to us and ask if we were looking for something. We told her we were, indeed, and she took the time to look up the location of the item and then walk us to the section of the store where we could find it. We really appreciated that good service and friendliness -- which you'd be hard-pressed to find in some other local grocery stores.

I had never been to the Food Giant Dude before and I expected like,Idk, Aldi's in Pine Bluff. Bring your own bags and stuff. But no, it was very nice. It was almost as nice as Kroger. I was impressed. Also, I did not really expect to save. I also figured it would be like the TRY N SAVE back home. But their prices on most stuff was slightly better. If you shop for a lot at one time and you knew what you were doing, I'm positive you could save big bux. Enjoy this short video from me and my invisible band, THEY ARE TOO REALLY THERE, and we are called, you heard it here first, WILD STALLION, with Shane SFlippin esquire and Ted "Theodore" Logan. Yeah!!!?

The produce and meat department is so fresh. But the hidden gem is the deli/ salad bar. They are cooking like they are being judged for a cooking show. I crave livers during certain times of the month because I'm anemic. When I tell you these livers hit the spot! I really wish I wasn't watching what I eat because everything was being cooked fresh that day and replenished frequently. Note: ask for ¼ lb of the livers and make sure they hear you. I asked forv¼ lb and she gave me a full pound of livers. I'm going to have to ziplock them to warm up in the air fryer because ain't no way I can justify throwing these away. 1 lb came to about $7.00.

Meat, meat, and more meat! (And Waffle Crisp!)

Edwards is THE place to go for purchasing fresh meats! The prices are great, and the meats are the best in town. A huge selection of homemade sausages (including chorizo!) Their cuts of steak and porkchops are the thickest around. And you can never go wrong with the stuffed peppers! They also have a great selection of fresh seafood. The butchers are very friendly and helpful.

The rest of the grocery store has all of the expected items. However, the thing that is really nice about the grocery section is the unexpected items. For instance, on a recent trip, I bought some local(ish) habanero jam. There are just lots of products and brands that you don't see at Kroger or Walmart. The prices for some grocery items are, expectedly, sometimes a bit higher than, say, Walmart (but still far lower than the cheapest items at Whole Foods!)

Finally, they sell the cereal Waffle Crisp. I have been searching for this for years, and I thought it was discontinued! It appears to be available at no other store but Edwards!

Overall, my favorite (non-specialty) grocery store in Little Rock! And I cannot emphasize enough--the meats are phenomenal...

I started coming across town because the 2 stores in SW are ridiculous. But this morning I came in and the ignoring of customers in the deli when you had at least 7 employees is ridiculous! It took 15 minutes at least to cut a lb of meat and half a lb of cheese. But it gets worse. One of the lady's ear had to be itching because she scratched it then spat in the garbage can in plain view of customers! She then went back to finishing work at the fryer or oven. Whichever was to the right in the back. The guy that was doing the turkey legs was eating meat I assumed fell off the bone. The customer asked the other gentleman that was working with the one cutting my meat if he could get some type of meat after he had been ignored and the worker acted like he didn't really want to help him. This is after he just told another customer she couldn't get any chicken strips till they started serving it at 10! But you have it on display with the breakfast food. I'm sorry for complaining but that is the worse crew I've seen working in a deli. They were more interested in talking to each other than helping the 4 customers that came up...
