I wanted to write a review based on my experience with Carpet Mill at 9086 W. Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO. We decided to go with Carpet Mill for our flooring needs (a lot of flooring) both luxury vinyl and carpet. It was an absolute mess from the get-go. They are all about customer service until they get your money, then you can pretty much go pound sand. I ordered luxury vinyl flooring from Brian (I won’t say last name) for my entire main level. It was supposed to come in a couple weeks after ordering and someone would call us when it arrived, I planned accordingly and ripped everything out of my main floor a couple days before it was scheduled to arrive so I would be ready to install right away. Nobody ever called us so we finally called them and they said “yes it is here, but only 30 of the 44 boxes of flooring came in”. I had to wait another two weeks for the rest of it to come in. Who knows how long it would have sat there if we hadn’t called. Again, once they have your money, the customer service rapidly declines (this is a pattern). We also ordered carpet from Brian for my second level. Brian came out and measured the space and gave us a quote for how much it would be to do the entire upstairs. We paid however much it was, (several thousand dollars) and he ordered the carpet. The carpet came in and they had installers come out to do the install. The installers were only half way done with the installation when they told they didn’t have enough carpet to finish the job. They were an entire stairwell and master closet short. The work they did get done was not great. I have lines going down my hallway that look horrible (google wont let me upload pictures). After contacting Brian to figure it out, he admitted to us he had screwed up and forgot to add the stairwell and closet to the order form. So instead of being flexible or at least willing to work with us on the extra cost, he told us the contract I signed covers the company in case they mess up measurements so we owed them over 600 dollars if we wanted to finish the job. I don’t have a ton of money lying around, we were on a strict budget and that was blown, but we didn’t have a choice but to pay it. (And if you know carpet, you know that if you do not get carpet that is all the same “batch” it doesn’t look right, and of course when every was said and done, it doesn’t look right. The color is off). It took another several weeks to get the carpet in (living on bare floors with two very small children). When the new installer got there he looked at everything and said he wasn’t going to do the job because he didn’t like to finish other installers work. After pleading with him and making a call to Carpet Mill he reluctantly started the installation. The whole time he was working he was telling us how much Carpet Mill are a bunch of crooks and liars. He said they always screw the installers and they are not honest to customers. It was a very unprofessional experience. When he was done with the stairs he asked me to take a look at everything. I was inspecting the work and asked him to fix a few stairs that were not stapled all the way. He got upset and said that everyone in this country is selfish and no one is thankful for someone doing a job for them. It got to the point that I had to tell him to get his stuff and get out of my house. There are still stairs that are not all the way stapled under the lip of the stair. And I also notice when I go down the stairs I can feel staples through the carpet. So after trying to work with a manager about this bad experience and try to get some type of rectification, no one would call us back, they just kept telling us a manager was unavailable. When I did speak to a manager he said “well just give us a call after everything is done and we can see what we can do”. Nothing has been done, and I have to walk down my hallway and see this shotty work every day. (Goes back to the pattern I talked...
Read moreContrary to what some people had to say about their Carpet Mill experiences, mine was great. Originally, my intent was to buy an area rug but after speaking with a salesman and learning that a big sale was coming up that weekend, I decided to bite the bullet and consider carpet for my entire upstairs, which by the way was WAY overdue! The carpet came in and was installed yesterday morning. My time window was 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and the trucked pulled up at 7:45. Arriving early was a pleasant unexpected surprise. I want to give the two installers "two thumbs up" for not only doing a GREAT job, but for being very professional and respectful. Their names are Augustin and Cecilio and they knocked out 3 big bedrooms and a hallway in approximately 4-4/12 hours. They even moved a VERY large safe in order to carpet underneath! The store said they would most likely "cut around" the safe. The installer insisted that moving it would be a cleaner more professional way to do the job. Of course, I agreed, but wouldn't expect them to move such a heavy item. Today, my salesman called to check and see if all went well. I explained that not only am I thrilled with the new carpet and the way it looks, but very impressed with the two man crew. I hope they hear about this positive review because they certainly deserve to...
Read moreSales person was friendly and competent. Carpet selection was good but prices weren’t great and we paid too much for mediocre carpet(that’s on us). Initial measurement and installation proposal had three seams in a high- traffic hallway when a single piece with no seams was obvious and required less overall material. The manager accommodated immediately when I made the suggestion, but I should not have needed to point out such an obvious solution. Installers showed up on time and were friendly. However, there was little effort made to clean up with the exception of vacuuming the main room and hallway. All the surfaces around the installation were covered with a heavy coating of carpet backing dust, carpet padding pieces and strands of new and old carpet. The banisters and railings all need to be repainted because the new carpet backing rubbed off paint throughout the installation area. Frustrating because all of the woodwork was painted two days prior to avoid having to paint over new carpet. Finally, we will need to have them out to remove a small object that was carpeted over. This slightly raised area will certainly wear...
