Wave The Grain Bakery- Littleton — Restaurant in Colorado

I am writing this regretfully, as I was thrilled to find a bakery with GF and dairy free options for my son. On top of that, I’m vegan and there were plenty of vegan options.

I was a bit gung-ho for our Friday morning and evening. We usually don’t eat these things for breakfast so this was a special treat for the family… So I walked in and got two of their little cakes, two pumpkin breads, two banana breads, a cinnamon roll, a chocolate banana muffin, and a $22+ loaf of sourdough spending almost $90.

Unfortunately every single thing was dry. The cinnamon roll and the two cakes were bone dry. The pumpkin and banana breads were edible but still quite dry. We ate things the same day so they were not sitting out.

Not to mention, the coffee shop dirt had GF vegan banana bread at half the price but I was not aware until after we went to wave the grain.

We also had some amazing brownies someone else purchased from another bakery which were moist and delicious, GF and Vegan.

I do plenty of baking for our family but I am by no means a pro but even GF and vegan I typically don’t have an issue with things being dry, even as a novice baker. I also have had other GF VEGAN bakery products that were fantastic so I didn’t expect the quality of the items from WTG to be so poor, especially at the price point.

Maybe going on a Friday morning wasn’t a good time to go to get fresh products? Reviews are generally good so it’s unfortunate but we would have been better off with snagging something somewhere else.

The reason that I give it a 2 star you need to read.

Number one I want to say the cupcakes were delicious and the design was perfectly fine. I had gluten free party guest so everyone could enjoy.

Number two is the issue I have. I ordered these a month ago for my gender reveal party for my twins. Two days before I’m supposed to pick up, they call me leaving me a voice message saying that I need to call back immediately. I called back a couple times and no one answered. I call back another couple hours later they finally answer and they tell me they don’t have information on what I ordered, even though when I placed my order, I provided a picture and they wrote everything down. As we know gender reveals are supposed to have something in it supposed to be a surprise for the family and everyone… However, when the gender reveal happened, there was absolutely nothing inside the cupcake. It was just a cupcake with the design of frosting on top. I had family come into town from East Coast for a gender reveal for a reveal that didn’t happen as expected. This was in incredibly disappointing experience. This is the first time I ordered anything from a bakery for a party. Family members were surprised I was ordering from a bakery because normally I bake things myself. I could’ve saved almost $100 if I done it myself, but I wanted to enjoy the time with my family so unfortunately this was very disappointment and embarrassing experience.

Allyson and her staff go above and beyond. WTG catered our entire wedding from salad to toasting drinks, the main meal and of course, the dessert. We came to her with ideas, she listened, made notes, asked questions and created an incredible evening for us! We asked for Thanksgiving Turkey sandwiches thinking a standard size of bread with some turkey, cranberry and dressing/stuffing on it. What we got was a 1lb sandwich with thick cut hand carved turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, perfectly seasoned dressing all on fresh made sourdough that was grilled to perfection. And then she made garlic mashed potatoes, maple glazed carrots and had extra turkey on the side for those who didn’t want a sandwich.

We had cupcakes for our dessert, 3 flavors, and a cutting cake. Each piece was beautifully decorated with our colors in hand decorated roses. The flavors were AMAZING. And the surprise when you cut into them was so fun to see on our guests faces.

Throughout the evening her support staff was considerate and responsive to each guests request (mostly, can this be wrapped to take home?🤣). Allyson has a heart that never seems to end and she encourages that servant attitude in her staff and through her food. If 10 stars were an option, we’d...
