First time giving Pho 9 a try. Food presentation is very nice, BUT even though I'm no expert, I do recognize good Pho - this didn't seem like it was made in the traditional way. Broth tasted almost like it came from a powdered Pho (if I'm wrong, apologies). It wasn't very oniony, and I could barely taste any anise before I put the Hoisin sauce on it. The chicken in the noodle bowl was pretty rough too - it was fresh, but didn't taste like it came straight from the grill like I'm used to with other places (kinda gristly - my wife just couldn't - so I ate it out of respect for the chicken that gave its life :D ). All this would have still been OK, but the service was ummm ... quiet? (maybe a cultural thing - but I don't remember Denver area Vietnamese restaurants being this way but they've all become so over the past several years). The staff barely talk to one-another, and don't even check on customers to see if they want more water, or if the food is OK. It's a bit like service I remember from visiting my own former Communist country - where attentive service was considered "two-faced or condescending". As John Lovitz used to say: "ACTING!" ... it can make a big difference when you're paying over $40 for a casual meal for two, and still having to cough up a tip for basic food delivery to your table. I'm really rounding UP from 2 1/2 stars since I know Pho 9 has the potential do...
Read moreI used to loved coming here even though the customer service is horrible the food taste is great. I have been kicked out from here just like some one else in the reviews because they were closing eventhough my kids and I were eating. I thought about it and I understood maybe they really needed to get the heck out of there so I let it past. Last time I came here i ask for 3 bubba drinks for my kids. The lady said they couldn't do them because there was no ice...which i completelly understood. After she came and she said there was just enough for one so i took it. After a couple of customers ask for those same drinks and she went ahead and gave then some. I thought there was NO ICE??? As my 3 kids were just watching sharing their drink in confusion i went to talk to the server. (The guy who is ALWEYS taking the menu not smiling). I ask to talk to the manager and he said he was. I told him what happen and he was so rude. He said "what ever we don't have ice" and left me talking infront of the customers. ??????????? I am a very reapecful person and i could have made this situation worst if i had tried... But desided to just walk away... Never coming here again to he humiliated...
Read moreOur order of two bowls went to a table of 10. It caught my attention as we were there before they came in. After I watched them pass both of them down, they called the waiter to say no one had ordered that! I watched as he took it back to the kitchen, then after 15 seconds or so, he brought the same two bowls over to our table. I asked him if those were the same bowls that was delivered to the table of 10. He sheepishly admitted that they were. I said that I didn't want those bowls after everyone breathed on it from the table of ten! He returned them back to the kitchen and another man came over and asked what had happened. I told him. He said they would make 2 new bowls for us. Once we got our bowls, I couldn't eat it confidently, as by now I was feeling a lot of distrust. I have always enjoyed this restaurant but I will never return. They never comped the meal either. I hope I don't get flu, covid, or any other illness. Very disappointed and disgusted! We should...
