I currently live at Blue Square and it's actually really nice. It's walking distance from Lee's Market Place and the Stadium and pretty close to campus so you can walk or take the shuttle up the hill. Great washer/dryer located down the hall, nice hot tub, really pretty buildings. The apartment itself is really pretty and has a nice kitchen/living room/bathroom. Rooms are pretty small and pretty standard college dorm type room. The maintenance staff is beyond wonderful- our tv stopped working so they brought us a brand new one the next day, they've fixed our outlets almost immediately after we call. They're seriously the best so don't hesitate to call if you have something that needs fixed! It gets 4 stars from me because of a great lack of communication from staff/RA's and residents. My emails are rarely responded to so I usually have to wait til I actually see someone around the building to ask them a question. Another major thing that brings this down is the fact my roommates and I received a handicap accessible apartment to share between four of us. (2 shared rooms). We have less cabinet space, smaller rooms and one of the bathrooms has no cabinets/rails everywhere/the water in the shower flows straight onto the floor with no drain. My roommate and I didn't get this bathroom but the two girls that were in there had to buy all of their own cabinets and curtain rod. The kitchen also had very short cabinets so my tall roommate practically had to bend down on her knees to cook. We received a small amount back for our troubles but I wish I had known we were going to be put in that room beforehand because I wouldn't of wanted to live there. (For the record none of us are handicap). All the other rooms I've been to and seen are beautiful. If you plan on living there I'd go for a 4 bedroom private. Comes with dining room set and so spacious! Really a great place to live though especially if you're a freshman wanting to be...
Read morePALATIAL housing option at USU! This building began life as a privately owned apartment building, serving purely to house students of the USU Logan campus. Soon after it was built, USU decided to purchase this building as luxury housing for its students. As soon as you walk in you are kindly greeted by reception staff and can get food from the various restaurants in the building, and if you are a student, use the recreational facilities there which include 8-ball, arcade games, table tennis and more. If this is not enough, as this was originally not designed to be a student accommodation building, there is also a hot tub exclusively set aside for students to use. In the rooms, there are plenty of options. There are two variants of studio (penthouse, as I like to call them) suites, comprised of one private bed, a bathroom, a kitchen, a closet (walk in), and a TV, all of which is used by only one student. Then there are shared rooms, like the 2 bedroom apartment, which is composed of two private bedrooms, two private bathrooms, two private closets, two desks for study use, and a shared full kitchen/dining area in the center of that apartment, which opens up to a living from with a couch and a TV access to 80+ cable TV channels. This two bedroom floor plan can also have a shared room design, where two students share a room (obviously each room will have two beds if you chose this option, it would the weird if not), a closet, and a bathroom. There is also a four bedroom floor plan which is comprised of all the same amenities but with four private rooms, bathrooms (which are huge for student accommodation), closets, and desks. As stated, this is the TOP OF THE LINE student accommodation owned by USU, and as such is very clean, very comfortable and without a word of a...
Read moreI am a current resident and I would say some of these reviews are accurate, and some aren't. Smells linger, walls can seem a bit thin, the windows don't open, and sometimes the elevator can take a minute or two. Otherwise it's a great place to live! They keep it pretty well maintained and there isn't a lot to complain about. I do wish the hot tub was closer to the building. Things like the washers and dryers can break and take a few weeks to get repaired. They are on top of the repairs, but there are supply chain issues so it's not their fault. I have a private room and 3 roommates with their private rooms. It's a pretty nice place to live, although the price is a bit high! I would say they are a pretty good place to live, but there is some room for improvement.
You didn't get 5 stars because of the high price to live here, which is also separate from parking, so plan to pay another $200 for a parking spot on top of the rent payment that goes through the school.
I missed a housing deadline so I live somewhere else currently but plan to come back to blue square for my senior year, and then also graduate school. I really miss taking the bus to campus rather than the long uphill walk I have at a different place. The bus stop in front of the complex is gold and is very useful to getting to campus fast! I...
