Where do I begin? Lets set the tone, In your best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice "Come with me if you want to lift"...alrightyyyyyyyy, I Moved from CA last year where selections of gyms are dime a dozen, if you want powerlifting go to X, if you want a trendy vibe go to X, if you want to be boujee go to X, you get the point. However moving to the Grayson area I only had a few choices of gyms in the area and surrounding area that I could consider before joining the Workout Anytime Grayson location and as usual I make great choices in life so joining this gym was a no brainer with no regrets.
I'll keep it one hundo for those who are considering this gym because I am the most honest guy I know. The gym from a visual stand point is probably on the smaller side compared to local gyms nearby, I'd describe it as "cozy" some of the machines are "outdated" depending what style of workout you do but they have all the necessary ones to get the job done, which ultimately worked for me. I do wish they'd remove a few of the cardio machines and open it up for maybe another 2 benches or squat racks...oh wait! This just in...last week they renovated the flooring/restrooms and recently informed us they'd be bringing in a new Squat Rack with deadlift platform! Let's goooooo
The gym is probably 30% occupied at anytime I've ever been, the location is VERY clean, Covid wouldn't stand a chance here. The areas are well lit and truly my only concern is whoever makes the music choices. Although I personally have headphones on, I can't imagine what it feels like to be a fellow lifter trying to get pumped to Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" or 98 Degrees "Invisible Man"...if anything it makes the vibe interesting and light hearted
Gym size, covered. Equipment, covered. Cleanliness, covered. Vibes, covered, especially if your a 90s kid (the best generation by the way!)
Lastly and the best part of my workouts are coming to a gym where people rock! No muscle heads intimidating men or women, but definitely some strong people in the gym. All walks of life, I've met a handful of great people and can carry on conversations with them during my lifts and have even become friends with several of them. Great environment, encouraging people and overall just a great community of fellow gym-goers and staff members.
So to wrap it up, if you are looking to make a great choice for your fitness goals then choosing this Gym is a no brainer, now if you want to keep procrastinating, make another bad life choice and trust your own judgement rather than mine then I'll pray for you on Sunday at church because truly only God can help you because that's a heart issue and I only deal with regular people problems.
I'm so confident in my review of this place that I stand behind it in a guarantee that you can come in for a free weeks session to workout with any of the trainers and if you don't love it, it won't cost you a thing! Omar is particularly great, he won't tell you this because he is super humble so just don't bring it up cus he'll deny it but he was a 3 time bodybuilding champion, when you see him you'll get it, he's trained some of the best in the industry, Ronnie Coleman, Lebron James, Mike Hongkham, Chuck Norris just to name a few. Anyways come by and get your free pass to try the gym out I promise you will love it, look for me and we can even lift together, I'll warn you beforehand though I'm also very humble :)
All jokes aside, everyone is great here, hope to see...
Read moreThe gym is so cheap that it is hard to complain, but it could be better in a lot of ways. A lot of the equipment needs to be adjusted or maintained better: The leg press doesn't slide smoothly or evenly throughout the range of motion, the 90 lb dumbbells were MIA last time I went. One of the other dumbbells is bent in a C shape, so it's hard to balance. The card scanner wasn't letting people in the door last week for some reason too.
People don't re-reck their weights for the most part, or put the weight on the correct peg. A lot of times I'll go to use a bench or machine and I can still see the sweat marks from the previous person, since often people don't clean up after themselves. It's kinda gross honestly.
They really need a few extra barbells. There are only 3 in the entire gym (one on the squat rack, one on the incline bench and one on the flat bench.) So if someone wants to do rows, curls, deadlifts, shoulder press, upright rows, etc with a barbell then you have to take it from the squat rack or bench press. It's a real bummer.
Overall, the gym is super cheap, but I am kind of disappointed with the experience. I wish I would have joined Anytime Fitness; even though they are slightly more expensive, they have more locations, better maintained equipment, a better guest policy, and a cleaner and more organized workout...
Read moreAJ will not allow me to cancel my membership even though I have been trying since April! They deducted payment even after attempting again to cancel by phone. When I came in person today, he still will not cancel. I was told that I can cancel anytime and now the fine print 30 days is being shoved in my face! Again I've been trying to cancel since April. It allows you to sign up online but you have to cancel in person which. I've never gone into the gym since I signed up because it's way too small. Now I'm in the process of disputing woth my bank and making sure they don't allow any new charges on my account.
No sir, I have canceled gyms over the phone and online. Regardless your guy told me it was able to cancel anytime and I signed because of that. You won't get another dime from me though and I've disputed the charges. Those 23 bucks must really help the bottom line!
5/28 weeks later...And still won't cancel and trying to deduct from my account! Will NOT HAPPEN SIR! Since I have been in person 2 weeks ago prior to this review to cancel and you won't cancel; guess the BBB...
