I booked my memorial piece with Matt Baker. After multiple recommendations & checking out his work I knew there was no one better to tackle this tattoo. Upon walking in the entire place was immaculately & meticulously kept. I was warmly greeted and filling out paperwork in the lounge area was a breeze. They offer complimentary snacks and drinks in case you need anything. I wasn't really sure where I wanted this piece to go but Matt was a huge help in explaining the lines and angles of the tattoo and where it would look best! The physical setting up of the machine and inks is what really makes me most anxious but his cordless machine only took moments to set up and I was far more intrigued than nervous! Matt has the lightest most gentle hand I've ever felt getting a tattoo and when I say this experience was painless I truly mean it. Matt was extremely respectful and professional the entire time & really made my whole time there comfortable and enjoyable. Today was my first time in the shop. Derek gave me a tour to make sure was comfortable and knew where everything was. Drinks? Snacks? You kidding me? This place has it all. The owner even came out to introduce himself and welcome me in. You can tell he thought of every detail and put the staff and clients at the top of the priority list. It's bright, immaculate, comfortable, and easy to access coming from MA. I'll definitely be back every couple of weeks. Every single time I get a haircut from Derek, I leave feeling like a million bucks. He always makes sure he understands exactly what I'm looking for and executes to perfection. Always a laugh, always a good conversation, and always the best haircut you could imagine. l've seen Derek connect with everyone from young families to elderly people. Fabulous experience all around! Derek Gardner tattooed my daughter and I and we love our tattoos!! Derek’s personality and artistic skills are both top notch! The business itself is beautiful! It’s very high class and the staff was super welcoming and supportive of any needs, both at arrival and throughout the day. The owner, Matthew also stopped in to check on us a few times. He was very friendly, and clearly cares about people’s experiences at his establishment. We felt strongly that he and all of his employees cared about our experience at Black Rose Collective, and we highly recommend!
