I gave this place 5 stars for the experience !
I've gone here once before and was blown away at the unique and wonderful experience my partner and I had. The first thing you do is pick the broth. The spicy broth is out of this world amazing and extremely spicy 🔥 😲. It was burning my mouth but I couldn't stop eatng it. Next , you pick the items that you want to cook in your broth. The items are served raw, the directions on how to cook them are very easy to follow and the experience is so much fun.
I came here a second time with my sister, I raved about it and just had to take her. When we arrived , we found they were closed for re-stock , two hours. We tried to find another place in the area that would give the same experience but there weren't many options that matched. My sister and I decided to come back when they opened again, no regrets. Once again they did not disappoint.
My advice is if you are going with multiple people and all of you want veggies, get the veggie plate and split it. There are two sizes. It will save you on the bill at the end , as each item is individually priced and you can choose as many things as you want . It can get very pricey if you aren't careful.
If you are lucky , you will get a server who doesn't mind topping your broth off when it gets low and you have more food to eat.
The melon boba tea is so delicious. It was a key component in calming the burn from the first visit when I tried the spicy broth. Extremely refreshing and effective.
The dipping sauces for the meat/ dumplings were amazing ! There was a peanut sauce that was rich and flavorful , a nice salty soy based sauce , and a sweet and sour sauce.
We ordered ramon for the noodles and a veggie plate to share. I picked the pork slices and she picked the shrimp and pork dumplings. Both of us ordered a boba tea for a beverage. It was around 54 dollars (give or take) before tip. Well worth it and perfect for a...
Read moreI recently dined at Zapp and had a hot pot experience that left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the atmosphere was fantastic. The restaurant has a warm, inviting ambiance that sets the stage for a relaxed meal. Additionally, the cleanliness was impeccable, with the dining area and restrooms spotless—a clear sign that they take hygiene seriously.
However, the dining experience itself was less than stellar. The service was notably slow, and it was frustrating to wait so long for our order to arrive. The seafood served with the hot pot was also disappointing, as it didn’t taste as fresh as one would expect. Given that seafood is a key component of the hot pot, this was a significant letdown.
The servers were not very attentive, which only added to the frustration. We had to flag them down multiple times for basic requests, and it felt like they were either short-staffed or not well-trained.
For a hot pot restaurant, preparation is crucial, and this is where Zapp really needs improvement. The ingredients should be prepped and ready to be cooked by diners, but that wasn’t the case here. It seemed like they were struggling to keep up with demand, which affected the overall experience.
In summary, while the atmosphere and cleanliness at Zapp are commendable, the slow service, less-than-fresh seafood, and lack of attentiveness are areas that need urgent attention. With better staff training and management of the hot pot preparation process, this could be a much better dining destination. For now, it’s a mixed bag, and I hope they can improve these...
Read moreThis place is clean, bright, colorful with high quality vegetables and meats and tasty desserts. The staff was very friendly and took their time teaching us how to use the hotpot stoves, the service was prompt but everything was tasty. The menu had many options for the kind of meal you might want including none hotpot items. The nice thing about this restaurant is that each one of you as the guest have your own pot and don’t have to worry about your family members eating an item you’ve been waiting to be ready. So each one of you at the table can choose your own broth and items to add to the broth. Everything was on one level so no pesky steps for those in a wheelchair. This is a great place to introduce someone that has never done hotpot before and for those that are pros you could find new desserts and...
