Credit card users BEWARE! ZERO customer service. My husband and I have always enjoyed attending venues at the Palace with no issues. In January, we came to the Palace to purchase tickets for the Escape tribute band. As we were doing the transaction, we saw that the person doing our purchase charged us for the wrong concert. We noticed it right away as he was processing our credit card. We alerted him to the problem as it was more expensive than the concert we wanted to attend. He then said he would credit that transaction and re-charge our card with the correct amount. We waited as he did that and left with the tickets that we came to purchase and went to that concert. When we received our credit card statement later the next month, the amount we were charged was $200.00 instead of the $140.00 that the tickets actually cost. Upon contacting the Palace, they were unwilling to investigate this quoting their policy. What policy does not investigate an overcharge that was supposed to be corrected at our time of purchase? What kind of bookkkeeping do they have? We just wanted the credit card to be credited the $60.00 we were overcharged. The attitude of the staff was dismissive. How would they respond if they found out that something that was supposedly corrected at the time of purchase showed on their credit card statement incorrect? Where is the customer service? What kind of "policy" is that? Needless to say, we will not be attending any more shows at the Palace and we will be telling everyone we know about the horrible customer service and bookkeeping proceedures the Palace has. The Palace "policy" must not care that they overcharge the people that support them. Dan...
Read moreI had no idea that this lovely place existed until shortly before the night we saw a show there just over a week ago. The Palace is decorative, spacious, and inviting. The bathroom was nice, obviously has seen attractive, effective upgrades. You can see signs of the building's age and long entertainment use both in the restroom and in the main audience. Not all of these 'age spots' need repair, as touches here and there add a historical continuity that's kind of nice, a part of the past brought into the present. I enjoyed examining some of the tall pilasters around the perimeter on the walls. From a distance, they look like carved stone. Up close, you can see that they actually are wood or plaster painted to look like different colored stones. It's quite brilliant and reminds me of my grandfather, who used to "paint wood" this same artsy way. Fabulous colors abound in the theater, a wonderful entertainment venue with a large, excellent soundbooth and great lighting. I hope someday...
Read moreFirst off, let me say I've been to hundreds of concerts. And my wife and I enjoy the Black River Landing concerts put on by this promoter. But the Palace is not a general admission venue. Not only do you buy a specific seat, it has tiered pricing. So the closer you sit, the more the seat costs. So why Bob, would you let people come up to the stage and stand in front of those people who paid a premium to sit up front? I paid to see Escape, not a bunch of big backsides in my face. You've been promoting concerts for awhile, so you know better. As for the venue, sound is terrible, saw the same band at the House of Blues, and the sound was much better there. Lastly, there is next to no security. I walked right in, could have had a gun in every pocket. So long story short, terrible experience, not...
