American Specialty Laboratory — Local services in Los Angeles

ZERO STARS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU THINK THEIR GOING TO BILL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY! This laboratory uses another company for their billing services and that company DOES NOT BILL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. The billing company sent me a bill 11 months after the service date saying I owe money. I tried to HELP to get the bill paid by my insurance, because I know I'm covered, but the insurance company said, "it's too late to submit to insurance" and then the billing company sent me to COLLECTIONS without telling me or re-billing me. AND...NO ONE KNOWS, not the laboratory or the billing company, knows WHICH COLLLECTION COMPANY I WAS SENT TO. How is this EVEN possible? Here's the breakdown of the story as of January 2025; I have been working with their billing company every 4 weeks since March of 2024 trying to get this bill paid by the insurance company since the day I got their bill. The service date was from April of 2023! Finally in November of 2024 the insurance company told the billing company "the are refusing to pay, due to the billing companies negligence on sending the bill to the insurance company in the appropriate amount of time allotted, and that they should write this bill off". Right then and there on the phone, the billing company should have told me that I was going to be held responsible, while we were on a 3 way calling call when the insurance company. Instead of that, right after hanging up they SENT ME DIRECTLY TO COLLECTIONS which I just found out about in January 2025. By the way, I have never received a bill from any collection agency. I have PERFECT CREDIT and this is SO UPSETTING, if it is in collections somewhere out there. I can not tell you HOW MANY COUNTLESS HOURS I HAVE SPENT ON THIS ISSUE TRYING TO GET THE LABORATORY PAID BECAUSE I CARED and everyone should be paid for the services! I now have to pay this bill of $227.00 to the laboratory, because I do not TRUST THEIR BILLING COMPANY. I think, SOMEBODY NEEDS TO PAY ME BACK THE MONEY...

Got a fraudulent bill from these people. Even calls the number they say to call to talk about the bill and the phone line doesn’t even work. Says I owe them 10 bucks for slides that they say were done last August and now they are billing me in March? I was confused at first but then I went and I looked on my bank statements and I had no Covid test done or any type of test done or even been to the doctor for any reason in August or even around August. If you get a bill from these people double check that you actually had work done by them. People are getting real crazy with scams these days don’t even know how they got my...

This is hands down the friendliest COVID testing facility that I've been to so far! Staff was polite, quick and very informative! This place was a bit hard to find at first because there's a ATV auto sale shop in the same building that takes up all the parking space and building signs. Easy to miss. Also, there's only three spots out front to park for testing. But even with those items, it was both a pleasure and treat dealing with these kind individuals. Stay safe out there people.
