Worst airline for Latin America... bought two business class ticket for my parents (seniors) so that they could fly in confer and avoid the headaches. At time of arriving at the airport, we were greeted by a rood staff who treated my parents like peasants. The "Special counters for documentation and baggage delivery" as stated in their website has more to desire, as we waited almost 40 to an hour in line to check-in their bags. They only had one ticket counter staff attending to business class, when clearly they had 4 windows that indicated "business class". Now, I had done the online check-in, even printed their tickets, we just needed to drop off the bags. A process that should had taken less then 10 minutes took longer. Then at time of boarding the airplane, according to their website it states "Boarding and disembarking priority at the time of your flight", this didn't happen, my parents called me to tell me that the staff at the gate were boarding people from back to front and no priority was given to them. To make matters even worst, door agent once again treated my parents rude... the food and flight service according to my parents was bad, they only received what seems to be a donut and maybe 1 drink. I'M SORRY! I flown business class with US Airlines and I have received better service then what my parents received. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. There is so much negative that I could say about this airline, but this would end-up being a book. My recommendation is, if you are flying to Latin America, put this airline at the bottom of your list. If they treated two Senior Citizens in business class this way, just imagine how they treat people in Economy. To AVIANCA... shame on you! My parents didn't get the treatment they payed for and I am still awaiting for a response from you. However, I don't expect anything from a...
Read moreAbsolutely unacceptable treatment by Avianca Airlines. Our family of four, including a 12-year-old and 14-year-old, was separated across the cabin despite booking all together on the same reservation well in advance.
Avianca seated our minor children away from their parents, which is not just inconvenient — it is irresponsible and unacceptable. We asked for help at the gate and onboard, and were told there was "nothing they could do."
This is a basic safety and decency issue. No family should have to beg to sit next to their children, especially when traveling internationally.
We expected much better from an airline that promotes itself as family-friendly. If Avianca cannot guarantee that families with minors are seated together, they need to warn customers clearly or fix their broken seat assignment system.
Extremely disappointed and will think twice before flying...
Read moreAvianca is a very unreliable airline with very poor customer manager and inefficient processes. Avoid at all costs.
They kept us waiting over 3 hours seated in the plane at the departure gate, asking passengers to wait an extra 20min every 40min, before telling us they could not fix the issue with our plane and we had to disembark. We then had to wait in line AGAIN at 3am in the morning to get rebooked for the next day without any form of monetary compensation. I have never seen an airline ask passengers (including kids, special assistance and elderly) to wait this long with this little information in the middle of the night and ask people to wait in line one by one to get rebooked when they have everyone’s data and could do it in an email. The next day’s flight was late an hour because the crew was late… again, avoid...
