The flight was delayed for 2 hours beyond anyone’s control, so it was not fused. Slightly annoyed, I was told once in the lounge. Half the space is for dining. Great service. But the food was a huge letdown. Salt n pepper calamari tasted like frozen supermarket food. The fish was not bland and foul-tasting, and the portion size was ok, but I can see severe cutbacks for first-class passengers.
I am dreading my flight only because some Qantas flight attendants like to play you and try their best to ensure you know you can only order breakfast literally moments after boarding. They then purposely advise when you awaken before arrival, you can only order cold snacks, and even then, they ensure you feel inadequate to ask. First class is typically packed with Business upgrades, so it’s somewhat pointless because they don’t have the right staff to provide a superior level of service. I’m comparing this against Singapore Airlines and Emirates, who go the extra mile.
There’s no chill-out space—uncomfortable chairs. But you can bypass waitpersons and go to the bar to order a drink if you like. The wine selection is below average.
Overall the food is not poor. After trying some meals, the best was sautéed broccolini. Chips. I know it wasn’t the vanilla ice cream I was eating. More like whipped vanilla, you buy in a mass grocery store.
It does annoy me because it’s a somewhat exclusive direct route, so there is no real competition, and Qantas knows this, so they don’t try.
When flying here, there is no vanity kit. No PJs. Just sit down and leave us alone whilst we overcook whatever you want to you don’t order again. Nasty, I know but when you pay AUD$15k, you expect quality.
Man, I miss the time when flying was exciting. Now I download my movies, tv shows because what they offer is not fresh content to enjoy either.
The funniest aspect about the lounge is their washroom facility is very confusing until you realise it’s on a share arrangement. I believe in gender equality but having two separate bathrooms that both show the male and female sign for the Sam washroom is...
Read moreI am beyond impressed with this lounge. This is the lounge in terminal 4. A big shout out to Norma Diaz who is super professional and who poured me a champagne. She was sooo friendly and kind. I observed her walking around and asking guests if they needed anything. Over the top service and she really made my day. A really genuine and caring person who clearly loves her job. Thank you Norma!!!
I wandered around also to check out the showers - I have never taken a shower at an airport lounge and let me tell you these individual shower rooms are sparkling clean and heaven after an international flight. The lady attendant was sooooo nice. She showed me where the towels and toiletries were and we had a nice laugh. It’s the little things that really stick in my mind.
Nice fresh fruit selection. Fresh watermelon and pineapple mmm. The spinach tomato eggs were REALLY delicious. The tater tots were also very good.
Overall a very impressive lounge experience. I must confess I am very glad I renewed my Qantas Club membership this year as it is worth every penny for the nicer lounges like this one in LAX.
THANKS AGAIN,...
Read moreQantas takes its presence at LAX very seriously with multiple daily operations and maintenance operations here, and this extends with their lounge presence as this first class lounge surely shows.
The lounge is one of a handful of dedicated First Class lounges they operate around the world at their more important destinations such as London and Singapore, let alone those in Australia. The lounge is dedicated to thier first class passengers and top tier frequent flyers as well as top tier Oneworld members flying on a oneworld member.
The lounge is spacious, with ample seating being located in a qiuter area of the terminal. Staffed with well-groomed staff in white jackets typical of the Qantas branding. The seating is comfortable with different styles. The dining area is open to the lounge with freshly made dishes from the menu and full ala cart service. The shower rooms were also a great addition and with proper toiletries.
Perhaps not the absolute best lounge I had personally visited and does indeed lack views to the tarmac, yet it does deserve the rating. As access allows one must spend thier time at the...
