Recently came across this place while traveling in LAX. I saw they proudly put up a sign for special sandwich called “Bahn Mi”. I had to do a double take and took a pic of the sign to make sure I’m not hallucinating bc I didn’t realize the marketing of this place failed to check the spelling of the food that they are serving. It’s a Viet sandwich called Banh Mi not Bahn Mi. This restaurant is located in LAX out of all the places. If it was located in Ohio I would understand but come one guys… I didn’t have food here so not sure how’s the food quality.

The work flow of this place is truly depressing. 30 min wait for a club sandwich and as I sit here and watch the employees, I’d say that about 80%-90% of their time is ate up by just poor work flow management. More time is spent away from the register and away from the “assembly” area than actually accomplishing tasks. The place is not busy at all. It’s just bad work flow. Hopefully the food is good but at this point, it’s unlikely I’ll get it before I need to grab my flight.

As with most of the places in LAX, I think this restaurant is a concept provided by the chef(s) and executed by a separate company under license. In this case Michael Voltaggio has leant his “Ink” brand to LAX in the form of his second branch of Ink.Sack, his LA sandwich shop. What is great about this place is that the prices seem to be the same here as outside of the airport - $6.99 for a sandwich. And with most sandwiches, as long as the ingredients are good, it can be assembled in quick order without too much difficulty. The place was quiet when I went and pickup was very quick. A Jose Andres was ordered, one of the cold sandwiches they offer and I was on my way.

On the flight I opened the sandwich and it was still in good condition, despite there being a vinaigrette, it wasn’t soggy and the ham and chorizo married well with the olives and manchego. A good sandwich that went well with the bottle of whatever wine offered on board.

If you’re looking for something that will satisfy you on the flight, take a look here, it’ll help with any hunger pangs in the middle...

Holly Moses, this sandwich shop needs to improve tremendously! None of the staff seems to know what's going on. There's no product consistency. I ordered 2 ham, egg and cheese sandwiches but there are no eggs. So it's just ham and cheese. Both sandwich had a different type of meat. They don't give napkins unless you ask. They rang me for just one sandwich so had to wait for another 10 mins so they can make the other one....They didn't give me my receipt so I couldn't show them that I actually ordered 2. I had to tell them I'll pay it again before someone finally told the kitchen to make another. No bags for the sandwiches either. Hey Voltagio!!! Visit your restaurant dear and...

I am at LAX for a layover. Very few lunch places are open so I thought I’d try this one. I waited 45 minutes in line, all of the time watching the unorganized, less than professional, untrained staff. It was ridiculous. Then I received my food. I paid over $18 for a ham and cheddar sandwich, when I’d ordered Turkey. There was two very thin slices of meat on the sandwich. They had no water or Diet Coke so I had to settle for reg come. I feel like no only did I stand in line forever while I dealt with luggage and was already tired but I got a horrible lunch! DO...
