I purchased a 2023 Porsche Taycan from South Orlando Porsche, and from the moment I drove it off the lot, it has been one of the most frustrating ownership experiences I’ve ever had—with any brand, luxury or otherwise.
First, the car’s central screens would randomly go completely black. While the car technically still drove, I had no access to controls, data, or navigation. I brought it in immediately. They kept it for days, only to tell me they couldn’t find the issue—and then asked if their service tech could drive my car home for the weekend to “see if the screens would go black again.” I asked if Porsche would take full responsibility in the event of an accident. No response. Just told me to come get the car. It was returned to me dirty—inside and out. No basic courtesy.
I then took it to Orlando Porsche, who at least correctly diagnosed the issue as a faulty central computer. They replaced it—but that didn’t fix the cameras, which would also randomly fail. After multiple appointments, they finally figured out the issue and ordered new cameras. But once I moved back to LA, South Orlando Porsche stopped returning calls and texts. They never coordinated the follow-up work with Beverly Hills Porsche like they said they would.
When I dropped off the Taycan at Beverly Hills Porsche, after scheduling the appointment through the Porsche app, they had no idea why I was there—the app doesn’t even sync with their system. I explained everything and emphasized the awful experience I’d had so far. The first thing I was told? My car with 5,800 miles “needed new tires.” When I asked how that’s possible, they told me the Taycan “eats tires because of the torque.” The tire insurance I was sold didn’t cover this, of course.
But worse than that? Beverly Hills Porsche had my car for a month—without a single call or text update. I called ten times with no callback. I sent messages. Nothing. I had to physically drive there to find out what was happening. And when I arrived, there was no apology. No accountability.
This company makes beautiful cars—but backs them up with horrific quality control and abysmal customer service. I’ve never had to bring a brand new car in this many times. Porsche has completely lost my trust—and I strongly recommend anyone considering a Taycan or any Porsche think twice. There are plenty of other luxury brands with equal performance and far superior service and reliability.
And after one week of having my car back, after Porsche had it for an entire month and supposedly fixed all the cameras with new ones, the cameras are still blacking out.
DO NOT EVER...
Read moreThis is the 4th or 5th time I brought my car to Porsche maintenance shop within less than a year since I purchased it from this dealership. The car has so many problems since day 1 of my purchase and the maintenance shop obviously can't fix it correctly. And every time I called to make an appt to bring the car in, I was informed by the shop that I have to wait minimum 3 weeks to a months to get an appt. The first time I brought my car in is because of the speaker, the shop did not fix it at all and returned it back to me. Then I brought it again back to the shop a month later. By the time I brought my car back in, my window control on the side of driver's door is not working properly. I could not control the backseat window from the driver's side. Also my engine light was on and off for a period of time. This time they fixed the speaker without fixing the window control or engine problem. And moreover, they messed up my "door lock/unlock control" on the driver's side of door. I couldn't push that button anymore. Then I had to bring the car back again. By the time I got another appt, my car's engine light was on and I always have a warning shows “auto rest failure" when I put my foot on the break. I informed the shop I have the lock control, window control and engine problem of this car, and of course they only fixed the lock control and window control without fixing the engine problem. After 2 days I took my car back from the shop, my engine light was on again and my engine is making so much noise. Everytime I have to wait minimum 3 weeks to get an available appt to bring my car in, and not even 1 time the shop could fix all the problem I had correctly. Now I have to bring my car back in again next Monday. This is the worst worst experience I have ever had with any dealership in my life. I can't believe I got a Porsche and the service is not even as good as TOYOTA....
Read moreVery disappointed in the quality of service here. I wouldn't bother taking my car back here. Scheduling also takes forever. I took a Taycan in for its 20k mile service and was quoted one price on the phone, told a higher price (1.6x the original quote) in person after waiting 2 weeks to get in, and then given a price 1.5x the original quote at pick-up. My invoice indicates that they basically charged, as a separate line item, for something that the 20k mile service line item indicates is included in the 20k mile service.
I also had two warranty service items ((1) driver seat; (2) one touch function for the window switches). They didn't fix either issue because they said they couldn't reproduce them. The service advisor did not bother coming to the car initially. At pick-up I showed him the window issue because it was clearly present. I said it sometimes, depending on the time/day, happens on all windows but yet they suggested performing a service bulletin for the windows which would involve replacing a bunch of components on the front windows only--sounded weird to me given the issue affects the rear windows too. At that point I had very little faith in the service dept. here so I took my car to Pasadena Porsche instead.
The folks at Pasadena Porsche were great and immediately resolved the issue with my seat per a bulletin. They also reset and recalibrated the windows and after that they said they couldn't reproduce the window switch issue. I'm keeping an eye on that one but so far so good without needing the extensive replacements suggested by BH Porsche that didn't really make sense in the...
