The staff make it as nice as they can, within strict rules. The city imposes all sorts of limits and annoyances that lessen the fun down here, but it's clean and new. Cabrillo harbor used to be a lively place but rules were made for basically every natural human activity, so what's left is a pretty stark. People are generally friendly. A poor attempt at turning the harbor into mooring for giant yachts meant that the marina is full of large empty slips. Don't expect the wifi to be functional; it may occasionally connect, but you can not ever depend on it.
Some people may remember a marina by this name which was friendly, hospitable, and professional, which had every amenity a mariner could require. This is not that marina. Sine it has been redone, they emphasize profit for the harbor above all else, and there is no longer much of a community due to how the whole marina is segregated into little sections with their own gangways.

It has abundant parking except when there's events, which is not often. Plenty of bathrooms, trash cans and water fountains along the walkway.
