The Porthole Deli and Pizza — Restaurant in Los Angeles

99% of the time, my reviews are 5 stars. But not this one.

The chef was disengaged. Texting, browsing, I don't know. What I do know is I ordered two extra large pizzas and both of them were burnt.

Maybe six or seven times before it was great, but this time it was burnt. Not severely enough to refuse it or deny a business its due... but when I got home:

One infraction (x2 pizzas) magnified others: ... toppings were unbalanced; sliced only three times (making six waay oversized portions of each of their extra large); and those were too weakly cut to serve without our own utensils.

This was supposed to be an experience to be shared with my visiting relatives, but instead it was very disappointing.

The manager was away before I arrived to carry out, but returned and offered to have his kitchen remake but I insisted not to. It's hard enough to make a buck these days... but I must admit, since then I've taken my carry-out pizza business elsewhere. Oh well...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Porthole Deli and was blown away by the quality of the food. The pizza was absolutely delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust and a wide range of delicious toppings to choose from. The salad was also fantastic, with a great selection of fresh and flavorful ingredients. The staff at the Porthole Deli were also incredibly friendly and attentive, which only added to the overall positive dining experience. I would highly recommend the Porthole Deli to anyone looking for delicious pizza and salad in a casual and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite to eat or a more leisurely meal, the Porthole Deli has something to offer...

Chipotle chicken sandwich!! It’s a bit spicy and tastes great, chicken was finely shredded today juicy still and softened w that chipotle sauce grilled onions n cheese. I got it on white bread today and avocado inside for the knockout punch.

I live down the street and come thru for this sandwich specifically. They earned the shoutout so I’m saying try them out if you haven’t. Maybe you like a different sandwich, this one is my favorite, but they’ve been impressive all summer that I been going, so they probably do other sandwiches very well. I did get the Italian before and it was also on point.
