So I moved to DTLA back in the beginning of the year and spent months trying out different barbershops/salons, looking for a new go-to local barber/stylist. Luckily, I ended up trying out Eddie’s Edition in the Art District and booked Don as a stylist. Honestly, I can’t say enough about my guy Don. My hair is straight, thick, and coarse (I have Asian hair, which isn’t the easiest to cut), and Don has the perfect balance of scissor cut for the top while also still being able to do a proper fade on the side (which is super important to me, as most barbers/stylists are usually better at one or the other). Don is the complete package and a rare find nowadays. I have been going to him for the last 5 months now, and I will continue to do so!
Eddie’s Edition in the Art District is a very clean shop with a calming/relaxing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, and you can check out each stylist’s portfolio online, which can be very helpful on finding one that can cut and style your hair the way you want. They have an online booking system which makes it really easy to book appointments and make any adjustments. Go try out my guy Don, you...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but here it is necessary. I was searching for a Hairstylist who can handle curly hair and give a nice scissor cut. The whole Mall ROW is such a nice aesthetic just like eddies edition, some kind of artistic industrial look. I booked my appointment with Hanna after seeing on the website that she did some cuts with people with similar hair like me. She was extremely friendly and tried to get the exact haircut i wanted and managed to give me a beautifull classy hairstyle, which is rlly hard for my type of hair. She was really kind and i just loved the atmosphere. For 55$ she washed my hair twice, gave me a head massage and cut my hair. I loved the experience and can only recommend it. Also she gave me the tip to go to Pizzeria Bianco afterwards, where i ate a wonderful pizza for...
Read moreWhile I was getting my haircut, the next customer had already arrived, so the whole process felt extremely rushed. The guy started by recommending shaving the sides down to the scalp( I later realized this will save time so keep next customer less waiting). In reality, the back of my head ended up being completely shaved flat as well. The way he used the clipper is extremely forced and uncomfortable. When I got home, I noticed I had a red scratch on my scalp. I also had asked the stylist to keep my permed hair, but instead, he only used thinning sheer on my top and end up removing half of the perm hair I had previously.
Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
