Gladys Park — Attraction in Los Angeles

Plenty of amenities. Clean bathrooms, free electricity to charge your phones or whatever else, basketball happening all the time, trees to sit under, bathroom attendant and security at all times to keep everyone safe. If you're homeless and need a safe place to nap, there are clear guidelines that everyone respects: no one touches anyone's things. A very great place to come if you want to get off the greyhound in L.A. and make your way into life here without a plan. Free food and hygiene products, shower trucks show up. Program representatives and free phone opportunities. Essentially a hub for getting your life set up and started even if you've got no clue where to start.

Folks live in tents all around and they're protective. People at night fall will want to challenge you and know who you are. But be humble and respectful and everyone else is too.

I came with nothing and people even let me stay in their tents around the park. Friendly for an incredibly difficult neighborhood to get along in. Grateful for the experience and the respect I was allowed...

It don't make since that as an adult being raised in environments in which are just because of you color or the block you grew up on or just your skin color even and going through all of wat has been of deep pain and or being effected by all of wat has been of traumatization for you at an early age or even as an adult and still be as relentless as they are is just first an embarrassment, and then a let down for you and all they may think they are worth and that's just sad ...
