Wish I had read the negative reviews and saved my time and money because theyâre 100% accurate. I made an appointment for color correction. I drove 2 hours and was SO excited to try this specific stylists based on recommendation from the salon and her awesome IG pics. She seems knowledgeable and from what I saw in salon and on her page - she CAN do amazing hair. However, I'm leaving less than 5 stars due to how I was treated. Upon arrival the stylist immediately said she would be making me wait 10-15 min so why don't I "go out and get a coffee." No hello, nice to meet you just.... "Sooo...Ill be making you wait." OK, no big deal, not everyone is congenial I thought. When I returned within 10 min, I ended up waiting even longer than predicted and in fact she was 40 min late for my appointment. I did have somewhere to be after and was totally willing to adjust my plan but when I asked for an update on timing I was met with a sort of annoyance as she perceived I was trying to "rush her". All I wanted was some communication so I can make needed adjustments to my schedule and inform my friends of my change in timing as I was told on the phone to budget 4 hours not 6.5-7 hours for the service. In fact, I just felt I was an imposition to her the entire time I was there especially when she said she could have made more money scheduling someone else since she concluded she wasn't able to bleach my hair. Also, despite being there for 5 hours I was never offered anything, not even a sip of water despite seeing every other client being offered coffee, tea, and water upon arrival. I had to ask her assistant for water. i got ONE small cup of water. I was dying of thirst. She did her best to color correct so really nothing bad to say about her skill level. I did expect a little more based upon her IG but I guess she isn't a magician and didn't have a good foundation to work from so can't fault her on how much I HATE my look however, I do wish there was more care taken for a new client that drove 2 hours and was looking for some TLC. Instead I was treated pretty sloppily - water allowed to drip down my back so I was sitting in soaking wet drape for most of the appointment, no refreshment offered, hair color slapped on and flying all over, and the blow out and styling of my hair was also pretty amateur - left with a lot of frizz (could you afford some product and a decent hair dryer???), then rushed out without any aftercare instructions provided (I was told to message her but I received no reply after two attempts). Overall just not a good experience. I saw others being treated much differently with a lot of attention to ensure a good look so I'm not sure why I was minimized. She isn't cheap to say the least and I left feeling...
   Read moreI am extremely disappointed with this salon. I had an appointment today at 9 am with Cam (Camilla Zinober) to which she cancelled 40 minutes before. She messaged me while I was already on the road so I didnât get the message until I parked at the salon. I live 20 miles away so I left my house really early to get there on time. She knew this because we had a phone consultation and I told her this. Cam said in her message that she didnât feel good which I completely understand she had to cancel but 40 minutes before is extremely rude, especially since the salon will charge you 50% of the service cost if the client cancels with less than a 24 hour notice. At least thatâs what I was told over the phone when they took my credit card info. The receptionist called me after the message from Cam and was very sweet and tried to find someone else to help me but unfortunately nobody was available. However, she said sheâd have the salon manager call me which was nice of her. The manager, Weston, called me about two hours later and I explained what happened. His response was âWell Cam called as soon as she could, she actually called you before the salon opened so that was nice of her.â Like what?! Nice of her? He was defensive throughout the conversation and had zero sympathy for my situation and was talking to me in a very cold manner. I explained I have a baby that I had to get a sitter for and wasted 1 1/2 hrs driving back and forth for nothing. Also, Itâs my babyâs birthday tomorrow and was getting my hair done for the special occasion. After his rude response he finally offered to make me another appointment but there was nothing available for today so I am out of options. I never expected this type of customer service from Nova Arts Salon. I guess I dodged a bullet and will take this terrible experience as a blessing...

I've been following this salon for a long time, always saving photos from their Instagram as inspiration, but not getting the same result elsewhere. I was hesitant to come here due to cost, but I have to say it is completely worth it to pay a little more and get exactly the look you want.
Rachel and Kelley are both so incredibly talented, and genuinely sweet and lovely people - all important things when you are spending 6 hours with someone! I even made sure to bring a phone charger because I knew the appointment would be long and I wanted to keep busy, but hardly even used my phone because we chatted like old friends the entire time.
Rachel has such precision and attention to detail and I can honestly say this is the best cut I've ever received. She just gets hair - my hair is fine but I have a ton of it and she was able to give me the perfect mid-length layered cut, taking out the bulk and making it so easy to style.
Kelley is like a color magician. She was super thorough in my consultation, asking about my color history, and looking through all of my inspiration photos, asking questions along the way to pinpoint exactly the look that I wanted. We did full highlights with a subtle money-piece to give me a cooler-toned dimensional brunette color with lighter pieces framing my face. In the end, all I could say was "I can't believe this is my head" because all of a sudden, I had the hair I'd always been wanting.
So long story short - book Rachel & Kelley! I'm looking forward to continuing to get my hair cut and...
