My name is David, I have lived in the Westchester neighborhood my whole life I'm a senior citizen and philanthropist I've always donated to Goodwill and shopped at our retail outlets in my neighborhood while shopping Saturday night at our Goodwill store on the 7600 block south Sepulveda in Westchester I learned of some new policies which will prevent me from ever purchasing from goodwill of Southern California again. I found a bargain a rotisserie oven it did have two price tags on 15 dollars and 30 dollars, I asked the clerk which it was she called the manager and Miss Emma told me it was 30 dollars a customer must have put on the 15 dollar price tag and the clerk mentioned this unit would be hundreds of dollars in a department store. I still believed I was getting a fair price at 30 dollars (although the customer behind me in line told me he had seen it the day before for 15 dollars). When I got home I found the rotisserie was missing the gear and spit making the unit worthless. I returned to the store and was told there are no refunds, I asked to speak to the manager miss Jackie the manager was extremely rude to me treating me with disrespect. What has happened to GOOD WILL ? I wish management of the Westchester outlet of goodwill industries Southern California would read the standards of professional practice AFP...
Read moreI will say, this is one of the smaller goodwill locations in Los Angeles BUT you can still find some gems from time to time if you have the patience to look. I always hit up the book section first and the employees there are always so kind and helpful. We chat books and recommendations and I love that about this location.
Some of the prices on things are marked up really high but they come out to be a good deal if you wait for the colored sticker sale or try to scoop it up on Thursdays when it’s $1.99. They had some Michael Kors bags and Dooney and Burke bags that looked to be in nice condition. I’m thinking about going back for those but I’m sure they’ll go pretty quickly.
Parking can be tricky on the weekends but there’s also lots of street parking available. If you’re really into thrifting, it’s worth popping in every now and then to see what goods are available. Just like any other store. It can be a hit or a miss but the hunt is always...
Read moreOrganize your pants by sizes!!!!!! I don't mind the high prices because some of the money goes to charity, but who is willing to spefor nd possibly 10- to 30 minutes looking through tightly packed racks for there size on top of that?! VERY UN- PROFESSIONAL..
On October 6 or 7 (2017)as I was walking out of the door, someone who works there loudly got my attention by saying I didn't pay for my bag. I walked over to her and calmly explained to her that it was my bag, even opened it to show my things inside. I did not say anything rude to her at anytime, and she didn't have the etiquette or decency to even apolgize afterwards. Even customers who witnessed this looked disturbed. She kept the same attitude as If I was a thief. I have donated to this place , and bought a lot , and usually my experiences for 2 years now have been decent, but after that experience, I will no...
