TL;DR HORRIBLE. Just look at the photos I uploaded of what I wanted vs what I got. Do not come here to get your hair colored in any way. Horrible experience, colorist (who I don't even know the name of because he didn't even introduce himself) told me "it is exactly like the photo you showed me." at the end of the service when it is in fact not ANYTHING like what I showed him. Keep reading below if you want the full recount of events.
I showed him this photo of Miki's hair and he just said "ok." I tried to give more specifics like "I like that her hair is very ashy toned, cool toned, I HATE warm tones, NO warm tones." He didn't ask any follow up questions, just started applying dye all over my head. I had virgin asian hair before this.
After the first dye it was red toned. I asked very softly "is this going to be this warm toned at the end?" and he said "this is actually very cool toned, it's the lighting of the salon." He then baby lighted/highlighted my hair, then proceeded to put more dye in my hair. End result was my hair is red/brown and all one color and absolutely nothing like I asked for.
And guess what the charged me? $480 for this. I still tipped $50 because I felt bad and tried to convince myself that its just the lighting and itll look better in the sun. For that price level you'd think you'd get something flawless and not gaslit into thinking its just the lighting of the salon that you're about to cry in the chair in front of everyone because your hair is everything you didn't want.
I called back to get this fixed immediately when I got home but given that he didn't even care to ask my what I wanted and then didn't even admit at the end that this is NOTHING like what I asked for I did not feel comfortable letting him touch my head again. I went back in person the next day and got a full refund for the $530 I paid.
YOU'D THINK that would solve the problem but no. I am SO upset because now I have hair that I absolutely hate AND have to pay another stylist to tone for 3 months to get my original color back so I can actually get it to what I finally want. So overall I'll have to pay at least $300 over 3 months to get my original color stable enough to get these warm tones out so I can actually dye it to what I wanted (so it doesn't just get warm toned again after a few washes, because at least the other colorist can understand I hate warm tones). The only way I would not be insanely pissed with this place is if they reimbursed me for the money to get my hair back to what it was.
I was genuinely nothing but SO nice and polite. I HATE making a scene in public and I even apologized for asking for a refund and thanked them profusely, but when I thought about how upset I was and having to look at my hair at work all day long I called their office again to try to get them to reimburse me in some way and they actually BLOCKED MY NUMBER. Had to dial *67 to even get through to the reception. Again, I was nothing but polite to them as I'm way too anxious to stand up for myself for these kinds of subjective things, but this is clearly objectively NOT what I asked for.
The fact that you blocked my number and have damaged my hair and that I've cried the last 3 nights about my hair, and that I can't even dye it to the color I want without 3 months of color correcting and hundreds of extra dollars is why I am so upset with your salon. Roll the security tapes if anyone is doubting how nice I was to everyone there. I can't even express how upset I am with this place and I recommend absolutely NO ONE go here...
Read moreI went first time get a hair cut and it turned out good so I made another appointment for hair color. It was simple red highlights and they did a terrible job (I couldn’t even see the color on my hair) I asked for red highlights because apparently those are the ones that work on dark hair without having to make them blonde. This is first time in my life I am coloring my hair so I have no idea. Since the first time it turned out bad they told me they will get me another appointment to fix it free of charge. I even tipped them despite of having done terrible job since they said they will fix it for me. I had to miss appointments because of Covid and going out of town after that. I called them up to reschedule and they never told me that I have to make sure to get it fixed in 10 days. (I changed appointment twice and never even once I was told about the 10 days rule) so today I rock up to my appointment hoping to fix the mess they made of my hair and to my surprise they tell me that I will be charged. I told them I was never communicated about the 10 days rule and they were like sorry I can’t do anything. Well, you could at least communicate to your customer in a proper way and not surprise them on the day they come for appointment. If I had known about this I would have never made another appointment and wasted my time.Worst customer service ever. Never going there again. I even recommended it to my friends because of good hair cut but going to tell...
Read moreAnyone who appreciates beautiful hair (since beauty is in the eye of the beholder), then you would know looking for that one hairstylist (pays attention to detail and cares about your satisfaction so she constantly communicates with you to ensure they are getting you the hairstyle that you want) is a challenging task, especially when you've just moved to a new location. My girlfriend has been searching for 2 years, and finally, she has found the one! This place is clean and bright. The customer service is top notch and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality that they provide for you!
Anyhow, this place is booked up pretty much all week so it's better to book for appointments in advance. I don't see any way to book appointments on their website, so I would suggest calling them.
As for parking, there is a parking structure right beside the salon and you will be able to obtain parking validation for getting a haircut here!
Overall, I would definitely recommend Nanana Parena if you want high quality service, great pricing and friendly...
