Parking has always been one of the issues to be wary of ~ nothing new about that, but on this trip in particular was obvious that it would be tale some time to find a spot. Went to grab boba, and and a bite at TigaWok, which isn't open until 5pm... so being smart, went to Marshalls to buy gift wrap paper. That went too quickly, so we were lining up for 10 mins or so at TigaWok. Which was fine. More and more people lined up behind us. They're soft openings has been going on for like 2 months. Overall, pretty tasty. Felt healthier than Panda and definitely cost conscious...
Read moreThe one place on Sawtelle with a real parking structure open to anyone. Plus being at the south end of Sawtelle, there's usually street parking if you go a little farther south.
Shopping is mostly discount, but that's not why you come here- you come here for the food!
Daikokouya, Sushi Stop, Lollicup, Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, plus some other less interesting places (and I think at least one brand new one I'm forgetting). Come hungry!
(but maybe not too hungry. The lines at the popular places can be atrocious. If you're starving you might need a snack...

We tried Panda Express during the pandemic with a disappointing experience, but will try again post pandemic. We also had a quick meal at Popcorn Chicken, but haven't wanted to come back.
We want to try Daikokuya and matcha village next.
