I booked an appointment with Hidemi upon recommendation from a friend. I am a person who often struggles with choosing what style or color would work best for my hair texture (thick and tends to get frizzy), so I needed a hair stylist who could help recommend good suggestions based on their experience. Hidemi did exactly that! She asked me questions to understand what I had liked before and what I struggled with in terms of my hair. She then did a great job of checking with me about her suggestions before going ahead with the color and cut. Overall, I was also very pleased with how thoroughly she applied the color without taking too long. The hair wash and conditioning was luxurious, with even a hot towel on my neck like the spa. I was also impressed with how efficiently Hidemi cut my hair - getting the right shape and then adding texture to lighten up all the weight from my thick hair. On top of that, Hidemi was very kind in her conversation. I’ll definitely be coming back in a few months to get my next cut and color!

The salon itself is minimal with a Japanese/Asian aesthetic. Not cluttered in the main seating and hair styling stations, which was kind of refreshing compared to many of the cramped hair salons I’ve been to previously. Bathroom was also clean and well kept. The hair washing stations had very comfortable chairs and managed to not put too much pressure on my neck.

Logistical notes: Parking was easy in the lot when I arrived mid-afternoon on Friday. But by the time I left, valet was needed to move around the double...

On my first visit, she professionally separated, cut, and bagged my hair for donation. The whole process was seamless and the resulting haircut was excellent as well. Additionally she is very kind and understanding. I usually go to her with only a vague notion of what I want, but she manages to figure it out.

I have been digital perms from Hidemi for the past 9 years. I have followed her from salon to salon and will always follow her because she is, hands down, the BEST when it comes to digital perms as well has haircuts. Not only is she extremely detailed, she will listen to what you want and then give you what you want, which is more than I can say for most hair stylists. Also, she is the most honest hair stylist I have ever met. If she thinks your hair would be too damaged after a digital perm, she will tell you so instead of just doing it and taking your money.
