This is my honest review of CTL, and I hope it will be of help to them and other potential clients. From the date I contacted them and they accepted my case to the date when my case closed was exactly 3 years. This was for a moderately severe and complex two car accident. There were various pros and cons to hiring CTL which I will iterate below.
Cons: All along the way, the turnover rate for all levels of staff handling my case was extremely high, and I was rarely to never updated of the changes. This made communication (which I know is typically not great even with the best of law firms) even more disjointed and sparse than it should have been. There were stretches when my emails and calls were ignored for up to 5 months at a time, which was stressful. When I did finally raise a concern or even a slight critique with senior staff, I was met with extreme defensiveness and accusations that I didnât appreciate anything they had done for me (DARVO) â No accountability was ever taken. During a late and very sensitive stage of my case, the lead attorney on my case was suddenly fired from the firm. This is a major change at a pivotal moment, much more-so than the several prior staffing changes, and it deserved some sort of communication. The attorney himself was the only individual who notified me, and indicated that he was wrongly terminated. I cannot speak much to it as I donât know all of the details, but it struck me as unprofessional at best. The communication with some of my medical providers sometimes lacked along the way, leading to subsequent hold-ups in my treatment, and at times I had to step in and facilitate my access to care.
From the date of settlement to the date my case closed was over 13 months. Upon settling, I had been given an approximation of 3-5 months. During this time period, there was barely any communication from them and nearly all of my attempts to communicate were ignored. As for the settlement itself, we finally settled for a fairly decent amount, and while the amount I walked away with in the end was within the range I was initially given, it was at the lowest end of that range.
Pros: Several of the individual people who worked on my case along the way were great and very dedicated. Over the three year span of my case Christian (extra thanks for keeping me so updated and informed towards the end of my case!), Shawn, Mehrdod, Anthony, Edan, Lilly, Sharay, and Ruben were the MVPs from where I was sitting and I sincerely appreciate all of their efforts. They put a lot of work and time in to my case, as it wasnât a short nor simple one. And while it did take an especially long time (more staffing changes I was told contributed to this), the team who negotiated my medical bills did an excellent job at lowering their costs. Early on after settlement, they did help me by giving me a couple of advances from my settlement, since it was taking such a long time to close my case. And again, while the total sum I walked away with was at the bottom end of the range, the range was indeed reached and I recognize that. The medical providers they sent me to were for the most part quite good. The chiropractor in particular was fantastic, and the PRP injections I was given temporarily improved my pain and quality of life.
Would I hire CTL again over other law firms if I had it to do over again? Maybe. Am I glad I did hire CTL? Yes. Thank you again for all...
Read moreThis is my 1st time dealing with lawyers to represent me and it was a unique experience. I will give you guys the con right away then I will tell you guys why they deserve a 5 stars.
The cons was that there was a lack of communication. At time i feel as though I was at the back burner. I don't even know what was going on. No one called me. I have to called to get updates and information about my case. It was very stressful. I hope they could improve on that, maybe just a little text letting me know that I am not forgotten. Anyway, enough of that.
I was refered to them by a paralegal that was dealing with my case. My case became complicated. The lawyer that originally was assigned to me at Countrywide was awesome. I am very thankful to have him as my lawyer. The sad part was that he left the company, but not until he won my case for me. Where ever he is at i will always remember that he is a good lawyer. Someone who empowered me and someone i know i could count on and depend on. I was then assigned to a new team for settlement. My settlement got complicated. My new lawyer didnt let me down either. He is very good at what he do. I believed in him and let him carried all my worries and stress. Thank you for fighting on my behalf and lowering your charge rate! I didnt know you were going to do that, and again im very thankful. Me and my family are happy and well put good used to that. And a shout out to Christian for being very proactive and dependable. I know I could called and talk to him anytime about my worries. So thank you! Countrywide Trial Lawyers deserve a 5 stars is because they really do fight for you and your worries is also...
Read moreI had a deeply disappointing experience with Countrywide Trial Lawyers and cannot recommend them to anyone looking for committed or ethical legal representation.
I hired this firm after a car accident in March 2024 that involved not only myself but also my two young children. Over the course of more than a year, my case was severely mishandled:
They waited 11 months to request my medical records, sent the request to the wrong facility, and failed to include my ER visit and my childrenâs ER records in the demand package.
They disclosed my entire medical history â including sensitive, unrelated issues (like a breast abscess and personal procedures) â to the insurance company without my informed consent.
My MRI showed a 2mm posterior disc bulge, and I attended 20 chiropractic sessions. My car was in the shop for 3 weeks. All of this was dismissed, and they made minimal effort to fight the denial from GEICO.
I clearly told them I did not want to drop my case, but they proceeded to get âapproval to dropâ it and send drop letters without my consent. I had to step in and object multiple times.
When I demanded answers, I received a final message stating that their âboutique officeâ didnât have the resources to support my case, and they left me to negotiate with the insurance company myself.
This firm failed to fight for me, ignored key evidence, disclosed private health records, and walked away when it got difficult. Iâm now seeking proper legal representation elsewhere and filing complaints with the State Bar and Department of Insurance. I highly recommend you look elsewhere if you want a firm that actually advocates for...
