Gwang Yang BBQ 3435 Wilshire Blvd #123, Los Angeles, CA 90010
I just ate here yesterday because since I am in Korea Town I'm thinking why not? This place looks fancy but do not worry, once you sit at your table, you will be greeted by warmth. Even though they do the usual cooking on your table restaurant, they also serve dishes who does not want to cook. I ordered the classic bibimbop. Hot bowl that has tender beef inside and vegetables including my favorites , seaweeds and been sprouts. Mixing it in with the chili paste and they served it with cold shrimp and sea weed soup. Eating this feels like bringing your "seoul" back and just makes you smile. They serve the usual korean appetizers which are fermented spicy vegetables and it was just great. This place I would recommend that you eat with someone else because it is a little pricey. I paid $19 but thats with a $3 tip. Every bite is worth the $.Especially if you are coming from a long drive. Visit now if...
Read moreThis restaurant reminds me of the hole in the wall Korean BBQ spot in San José, CA called Gooyi Gooyi. The staff cooks for you. They were very friendly, helpful and very attentive. They really made their rounds with all the tables. Jae & Julie (I think? She was was an older lady).
The ambience was nice & had very minimal noise. There wasn't any music playing, so we could have a decent conversation without screaming at each other. The restaurant was very clean, neat, organized as well as the restroom!
So we ordered. The 4-5 people prefixed dinner. The steamed egg was THEEEE best! All the meat were sooo damn good. We ordered the beef tongue, beef bugolgi, pork belly, brisket, and whatever choices that we could choose from.
I would totally recommend this resaurant to anyone who...
Read moreService was inattentive and servers/hostess seemed annoyed to have to help us even tho there was only 3 other parties in the whole restaurant. Hostess was snappy and rolling her eyes at party of people after us trying to ask questions. Server disappeared halfway through the meal and never returned. Food is extremely overpriced for such small portions. They also adjusted my tip+total after I left without permission.
They cooked the meat for us without telling us even though every other party had a griddle at the table, not a big deal but kinda kills the experience of KBBQ and without warning was quite confusing. Sides were delicious and refilled without extra charge +the meat quality and taste was great.
Would only return if all my regular spots...
