Melo Melo just came out with a Greek Yogurt Series just in time for Spring!
There’s 4 different ones to choose from! • Stravocado Pistachio • Stravocado Macadamia • Stravocado Almond • Strawberry Peach Gum
It comes in their cute signature jars that are reusable or if you want, you can exchange 10 of their jars for a free coconut jelly single jar. Love that it’s eco friendly!
Their version of Greek yogurt isn’t too sweet like your ordinary yogurt you get at the grocery store. It doesn’t taste artificial or loaded with sugar and preservatives. It’s made fresh daily with natural ingredients and the benefits are great! Not only do you get to enjoy a treat but it's rich in vitamins and minerals.
I tried the Strawberry Peach Gum. My favorite out of all of them! Strong flavor of strawberry. You get the creamy smoothness and tart from the greek yogurt. The peach is like a jelly and it’s a fun texture paired with the smooth creaminess of the dessert. I love the color and layers in the jar. Very aesthetically pleasing.
The Stravocado Pistachio is made with strawberry, avocado, Greek yogurt, and pistachio nuts. Has that strong strawberry flavor. The avocado and the Greek yogurt really makes it extra creamy with the nice touch of pistachio for that bite and nutty flavor.
The Stravocado Macadamia is made with strawberry, avocado, Greek yogurt, and macadamia nuts. It was delicious! The crunchy and creaminess of the nut paired with more creaminess from the Greek yogurt and avocado? Umm yes please! Also how pretty are the pastel colors? Love it!
This series to me is an elevated version of the regular greek yogurt that I'm used to. And I'm down for that!
And for the service.. great! Everyone was friendly and I love that there wasn’t a long wait for my items. If it’s your first time, don’t be shy, they can give you recommendations or a sample of the signature coconut jelly so you can get a feel of how it is. I love bringing these back to share with family and friends so they can have their own...
Read moreA silky and light weighted dessert is the way to go!
I have tried Melo Melo multiple times throughout the years, and by far-- coconut jelly is unlike any desserts I ever tried. Generally desserts tend to be really sweet and heavy. This place is the opposite; their desserts are soo good and doesn't rely on overly heavy sweetness (like cookies and cakes). I love how soft and silky these desserts are.
When they first launched, they have very limited flavors so I was excited to check them out again for their new releases. I was shocked to see they now offer durian and sticky rice flavors (which are more catered to Asian palette). I love that they know their customers really well because I was stoke to tried the new flavors.
The Sunset Sticky Rice and Sunset Mango Coconut with Sticky Rice were my flavors. I love the texture of sticky rice mixed in with the softness of the coconut jelly. The sticky rice isn't hard but rather a chewy texture. It's similar in my eyes to purple rice which is also one of my favorite textures in drinks.
The Sesame Walnut Coconut Jelly is also a solid 100 in my eyes because sesame is one of my favorite dessert flavors. Sesame tends to be bitter but this one wasn't, and I love that they have walnuts in it as well. The walnuts are grinded but you can still taste small chunks of the walnut. Don't worry the walnut isn't overwhelming, because the real star is the sesame taste.
Warning: The Sunset Durian Coconut is NOT for everyone. It's bitter and the smell can be unusual for some folks. My friend loved it because durian is one of her favorite fruits. For me, it was a tad too bitter and the smell was just too intense for me. However, mixing the coconut jelly with the durian might make it less bitter for some folks if you are interested in trying durian.
Overall, Melo Melo and their coconut jelly did not disappoint. The taste and quality was definitely there. It's also a great hangout place with friends because the interior is...
Read moreWhat an absolutely infuriating experience! If you claim to be environmentally conscious and promote a jar recycling program, then have the decency to follow through. I collected 10 jars, as Melo Melo's sign stated, expecting to return them and get a free coconut single. But when I arrived, they refused to accept the jars because they weren't clean. Nowhere on their sign did it mention that jars needed to be cleaned beforehand. If they had said so, I would have done it at home!
To make matters worse, when I asked to clean the jars in their bathroom, I found a giant sign on the door saying, "No jars allowed in the bathroom." Clearly, I wasn't the first frustrated customer trying to fix this ridiculous situation.
When I pointed out their failure to communicate this requirement, their response was infuriating. They claimed it was "their policy" but didn't bother to inform customers until after the fact. Instead, I was told to contact their PR person if I had an issue. Seriously? If this is your policy, make it clear to your customers upfront!
This so-called recycling program is nothing more than a deceptive marketing gimmick to make the business look good and encourage customers to buy more. It's insulting and hypocritical. Melo Melo, you've lost a group of loyal customers, and shame on you for wasting our time & goodwill, and treating your customers so poorly....
