UPDATE (2/5/23): Came back to LA 5 years later for a conference and so glad I left a review of this place so I could find it again! I had Anne again and was so pleased again. When she saw me, she hugged me like family. She really got into my knots and maintained a deep pressure throughout. When will my next trip to visit Anne be? I can't wait.
ORIGINAL POST: would give this place a 10 if I could. I am now sad I don't live in LA and am seriously considering booking another flight from Florida just to come to this place. If you want a fancy establishment, this is not the place, BUT, if you are looking for the best massage to really release the tension in your body - look no further! Ann did my massage and it was a combination of Thai and Swedish massage. She asked me whether I would like a hard or medium massage before we began and where I would like for her to focus. That immediately appeals to me since I went in for a specific need and I always ask for a very hard, deep massage. I have been backpacking for the past 3 weeks and my shoulders and upper back have been killing me. By the end of the 90 minute session, Ann had actually worked out all my knots! I have gotten massages all around the world and she is the first one to actually work out all the knots. Ann was amazing and so kind. I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to coming back to LA just for this....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely write a review but I felt this was necessary. I have been to LA thai bodyworks 3 times. Every time it has been nothing but amazing. Last night my masseuse knew exactly where my tight muscles were and exactly how to get the knots out of my back. the work they do is top notch.
I will note.. this is not a spa. If you come with the expectation of knowing that and also knowing the style of thai massage shops I feel it will help. The rooms are divided by curtains, however your space will be 100% private. This has never bothered me but if you are expecting something different its good to know.
Also tip these guys! The massages they give are worth 75+ dollars. Throwing down a $20 still makes your massage only $60 :)
Cant wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at this massage parlor was not good. I requested an hour long deep tissue massage. The elderly woman who was assigned to my massage asked if she could walk on my back, to which I said āthatās fine.ā She proceeded to spend 75% of my massage walking on my back. Half the time she was on my back, she had 1 foot on my sacrum, which was not enjoyable. During the few moments when she happened to use her hands, she could barely exert any pressure as her hands trembled. She did nothing for the sore spots on my neck. The quick strokes of her hand were pronounced due to the scratching, which may have been from long nails or very dry skin. This massage was neither relaxing, effective,...
