Goodwill Southern California Store & Donation Center — Local services in Los Angeles

Now I want to say that the regular manager which is a young man, who is awesome... On 5/24/24 he was not there. The Hispanic female manager was very unprofessional and disturbing. I'm a big spender at this store, always spending more than average, and it wouldn't hurt to receive a little customer service when needed. I was returning a carpet I spent $50 on. I had with me all my receipts, so that I wouldn't have a problem exchanging. Well first she was on the loud speaker, rushing the customers to stop shopping and come to register. When I get there, she was so discombobulated that she was making me nervous. She kept saying that she couldn't find the rug in the Reciept. I knew that was wrong. I made sure I brought it. I couldn't think straight because she kept annoying me by saying I couldn't return this, and she couldn't help me with that. I said as much money as I spend here, I deserve a little time to find the receipt. She ended up letting another cashier finish my transaction. I ended up paying for other stuff that was supposed to be exchanged, and taking the rug back home. Once I sat down and checked, boom there was the receipt the whole time. Not hidden, not lost. And if she just looked at the damn thing she wouldn't have wasted time annoying me by repeating that they were closing. I wasted time, gas, mileage, money and a good mood because of her unprofessional conduct. If she had just allowed me to be calm, and showed excellent customer service, then this review wouldn't be so long and detailed with negatives. She shouldn't be allowed to close the store because it's interfering with customer satisfaction and creating this unfavorable review. Train her on the value of customer...

Super centrally located . cons : really small store and the donation center is non existent . pros: depending on the time of year you visit , you get to bask in the donations of all the USC students finishing their academic year and going away for the Summer. Now theres a thought , right ?

1 other con : I don't generally like to super personalize these rated feedbacks in the following kind of manner , but this warrants the exception .... One of the managers there (the short, dark complexion Samoan/Hawaiian female)...she's got enough delusional self-righteousness for everyone in the store , acts as if she knows you (AND you owe her something for years)...and almost makes your experience at this store gut-wrenching if it weren't for the (hopeful) fact that she can't possibly be employed full time there with THAT kind of human aura trapped inside of her . So , all it takes is a simple call to the store and asking if Marlene (or Maria ...her name starts with an M) is in and if she's not , you're good to go kids . There's no sense in losing out on good finds just because Goodwill unintentionally hired someone who brings her unresolved issues from the past to work...

There was some very cool items and everything was cheap and nicely organized but the people that shopped there were f*#king rude, they acted like if we were black Friday shopping or something not even saying excuse me or anything but just getting in your face; not only that but one of the employees was just eye balling us and following us around the store.. I kept telling my friends to move so he can fix the racks cause it was closing time but he kept following and just starring at us it was annoying. I mean i get it its 30 minutes before closing but chill out. Not to mention its just creepy looking and following someone like that. If i ever find out his...
