This is a really cute retro old school (in my admittedly limited knowledge of bowling) place. Honestly, I like it a lot. Lots of parking for the capacity limit, a good variety of seating that gives you a much better view of things than most bowling centers around. Jenny makes a mean Amaretto Sour and although they have a slim beer selection, the basics are present as long as you don't prefer your beers thick (I do). This is a really laid back place and the management is cool and very accepting of everyone. Small pro shop with the essentials, 20 lanes that are well maintained, and a slew of wonderful people happy to bowl alongside you. There's one set of bathrooms at the entrance but they are nicer than most bowling alleys. Although the menu is slim, what they have is solid. The chicken tenders are pretty tasty and I don't even like yend rs much. But for the sake of this review I had them and enjoyed them and also had the double cheeseburger which was pretty good too. All in all, I'd say that this lil bowling alley is a hidden gem with really good AC and...
Read moreMy family of four visited Fern Bowl for the first time on Saturday afternoon. First impressions on appearance it was very clean, however, very dated. We did not visit the restrooms, so we can not comment on there cleanliness. Upon arrival, we were checked in quickly and at a fair price. The concessions area was again out of date but clean. The fountain drinks were crisp, which was nice. We had issues with the bumpers popping up. We needed assistance twice. This was a little inconvenient, but of no matter as the staff was extremely friendly and quick to resolve the issue. A group left during our stay, and I noticed that in 5 minutes, staff was already sanitizing the area. It was not crowded, and the music was not overpowering. Personally, I would not hesitate to give a 5 star when it appearance is brought up to date. To the staff: thank you for your cleanliness and friendliness it was noticed and...
Read moreThe red head that claims to “own” the bowling alley is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever met. We came in for a tournament and asked for Fireball. She said very rudely and loudly “I can’t sell that because my employees drink it” WHILE SHE WAS DRINKING ON THE JOB! How about being a good role model or implement a rule for the employees and don’t have paying customers miss out? Secondly, that was inappropriate and made everyone in the bar area uncomfortable. She shouldn’t gossip in front of customers, not a good look OR very welcoming. We ended up going across the street to get our own liquor for a much cheaper price and snuck it in. Congratulations….you played yourself on losing out on money and also losing customers. By the way, nice buckets for your roof leaks…how tacky! How anyone would ever want to bowl or work there for such trash...
