We've been customers at the Auburndale Kroger for 20+ years. Up until the last year, I would have given the store a 3 star at best and sometimes a 1 star. We had issues with lack of staff or unsupervised staff, produce that was poorly organized and past its peak ripeness, and too often out of stock sale or popular items. These issues caused us to visit other Kroger stores and other chains more often than not. Over the last several months there has been a marked improvement in all areas of the store, but especially the service. There are more employees for sure, but even more important is that each and everyone is friendly, helpful and attentive to customer needs. Each one greets customers, seems focused on their job, helps each other out as needed at check-out and cleans and organizes their areas. The store feels better organized, cleaner and more inviting than ever before. I'm not sure if there is a new manager but we appreciate the professionalism and effort of the staff...we interacted with produce, meat, frozen, general grocery and check out staff(including a new cashier being trained) and each person was friendly, helpful and engaging.
I am happy to continue to support this store as my neighborhood grocery. Last visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read more9x out of 10 you get disconnected, flat out rude staff. You will repeatedly find expired food items (refrigerated and non) as well as expired family planning supplies-condoms included. So triple check everything you pick up bc staff while repeatedly shrug you off when you point it out--even after you tell numerous staff about the family planning supplies and "remind" them that guys (much less teenage boys) are NOT going to be OCD about checking a date on a box of condoms they're fixing to use!! Limited options for those w food allergies w no clear placement either. Their refrigerated section that advertises gluten free treats all over the door by the bakery BUYER BEWARE as they have NON GF items directly mixed in w the GF section--this could have very well sent me to the hospital!! Only decent Kroger over here is the one further down right by UofL campus. Staff are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't ever write reviews on Google but I just watched the inconsiderate employees in the pharmacy treat a customer with her sick child terribly, refuse to give her the prescriptions she desperately needed due to a system error or something and then after calling security on this woman they closed up shop two hours early. No one would answer the phone for hours despite there being 3 people back there. I just went up there to check anyway. As I tried nicely to ask if there was any way I could get my prescription (also for my sick child), the incredibly rude employee said "we're done we're going home" as she shut the doors in my face... If this place is "understaffed" it must be because they don't pay well so they can't attract nice human beings who actually care about the health care position they are in... I'll be going to Walgreens down the street...
