So,my husband and I ordered take out from El Nopal on New Cut Road last week. I was very clear with my order, and insisted there be tomatillo with my husband's carne asada order. I also asked for double rice, no beans with my chimichanga order and we asked for a side of queso. They tell me it will be ready in 10 minutes. I get there and wait a total of 30 minutes. The hostess did not bring the queso. So I wait again. She rings me up and I don't pay attention to the change from the $50 bill I gave her. I go to the car and check the food. Well, my husband's carne asada is just beef tacos. I go back in. I wait about 15 more minutes while they fix it. When the guy brings it out, he is all sassy and asks me does the food look right. I say yes, but there's no tomatillo. He says it should be in my bag, which is emptied on the counter, tomatillo-less. So, he goes and gets it. I come on home, open the dishes again and find, nothing but rice, no beans for my husband. BUT HERE IS THE BAD PART... The next afternoon my husband asks how much our food was because he only has $8 in change that I left for him. It is $20 short!!! I call El Nopal and leave a message for the manager with my number. The girl, who was shorting me the $4.50 queso (which I saw her do to another take out guest while waiting) said she would have him call me in 30 minutes. I waited an hour and decided I would just go there. They pretty much called me a liar and said I couldn't prove it, yadda, yadda, yadda. I asked them to check the camera, which he said he would check the next day and asked for my number! I told him I had already left it and then, the girl is like "oh, here it is". I asked, "you haven't even seen my number?" and he said no, he hadn't. She stated it was busy there. Needless to say, he never called me. I don't know.... maybe I mysteriously lost a $20 out of my deep jacket pocket or she pocketed it... Either way, they messed up our order 5 times and we paid a grand total of...
Read moreI went with my husband and my father today to celebrate Father's day. The first thing we didn't like it was the fajitas. You could see since they brought it to the table that it was not well seasoned. Jose our waiter was doing his best even I was not 100% happy with the service but I understand sometimes it gets busy. The thing I didn't like at all was Raul's attitude. He was another waiter who happend to be walking near us and I asked him to please take a photo of us. He said "oh I'm sorry but I'm very busy" and walked away refusing taking the photo (which could've taken him no more than 10 seconds to do it). I understand he was not our waiter BUT That is not and excuse to reject to make a favor to a customer. Even if that is not your table. Second, Raul never came back to tried to help us with the photo. He didn't even told our waiter we needed something. Some people maybe thinking "ohh well after all, he was not your waiter" but this is not about who was or wasn't. I have worked as a waitress before and one of the things I've learned is that you need to take care of the customer's not only of the ones on your tables. Besides, this is not the first time I've been interacting with this guy. The other day I went to have dinner with my family and that day Raul was our waiter, that day he gave us bad attitude in the beginning. I didn't complained back then because I wanted to just enjoy our evening but today I confirmed the guy has this type or personality. Not a good experience and even worst for a celebration's day. I will avoid to go to this restaurant in the future and if one day I come back. I will avoid to have Raul to take care of me. He is just rude, helpless...
Read moreSeveral of us ate there Friday night most of us agreee we’ll never go back. Several ladies and I were seated at a table next to the bar area. Our server’s arms were covered in tattoos, sleeves rolled up as if to intimate us or impress us with all the ink. (one would think management would make waiters roll their sleeves down) He did neither and only embarrassed himself. I also noticed several piercings including his eyebrow and lip. Not something you like to look at while you’re eating. Considering how out server looked the service we received was just about what we expected. When he was around he constantly ran his mouth interrupting us with bs we didn’t want to hear that had nothing to do with the meal. We really don't care that his exgirl friend won't let him see the child she has by him. He was constantly feeling around his nose, not pretty. It seemed he wanted to make himself part of our conversation. Just in case the management reads these reviews you might want to let the employees know that some of us gringos can speak and understand Spanish; I taught it for 26 years. I won’t go into the disparaging comments our server was making to another server regarding an older couple sitting at the bar but they were very rude, lewd and inappropriate. The food was decent but the drinks overpriced and...
