Pharmacy filled my script incorrectly. Back story: Newly diagnosed with diabetes. My PCP ordered me metformin 1000 extended release 1 time daily early November. My PCP then changed it to 500mg metformin immediate release early december to save me money as it's cheaper. Yesterday my Endo DR changed it to metformin 1000mg immediate release twice daily and called it in as well as Vitamin D. Which I went to pick up yesterday. I left without checking (as I thought they would fill it correctly), only to get home and have Metformin ER 1000mg instead of Metformin immediate release 1000mg. I called the DR office and mentioned this and they told me that they filled it wrong that it should be Metformin 1000 IM instead of ER twice daily and that she'd call the pharmacy. She called me back and explained that I would have to bring the pills back so they can reverse out their claim. Ok fine. So I called Walgreens to verify after getting off the phone, only to be told by the dude that answered that they did fill it right and that it was my PCP that called, not my Endo.. obviously, he had NO CLUE. After sitting on hold forever I finally get the pharmacist who tells me that it was my Endo and not PCP and that they didn't call it in yesterday and that they just called it today and that they called in the ER just like they filled it (so then why does the pill have my PCP's name??) Obviously, they have NO CLUE how to do simple things in this pharmacy like keep DR's straight, check NDC numbers and basic things you learn in Pharm Tech school.... SCARY!!!!!!!!! If your meds are something you need to keep you alive, avoid this Walgreens at all cost. When I get this straight I'm switching to a pharmacy that has a basic knowledge of...
Read moreTonight my husband went to pick up our daughters prescription for her breathing treatments. She has very bad asthma and cannot miss a day of treatment. My husband was told that the prescription could not be filled without the insurance card so I went up there with the insurance card. The pharmacy tech told me that my daughter has another insurance and that my current insurance would not cover the charge. I told her that she doesn't have another insurance and that I had no problem a month ago when I was there. She got the pharmacist and I told him how my daughter needs her medication because she can't breathe without it. He told me I had to pay $318 or else deal with her wheezing myself. I told him that I didn't know what to do because she had to have this medication and he told me if I was that worried about her that I should stop talking to him and take her to the emergency room. I am so upset by this and I will never go back to this pharmacy. I'd rather take my business elsewhere where I will be treated...
Read moreChose this pharmacy because it’s close to my home, not realizing they are only open 4 days a week. One of my prescriptions was ready, fine. The other had to be transferred and wouldn’t be ready until Christmas Eve, in which case I had no time to pick up on that day - whatever. Closed Christmas Day, which does make sense. Can’t pick it up on Thursday because they’re always closed on Thursdays. Go to pick up on Friday - sign on the door says the pharmacy is closed, and of course they’re not ever open Saturday or Sunday. Went to the doctor a week and a half ago and have yet to receive this prescription. Don’t...
