City Barbeque — Restaurant in Louisville

Ordered various items from the menu through the app and paid for them. Upon arrival for curbside I notice a hispanic lady taking one of my orders to the wrong car... Surfs through bag to then bring it to my car. The lady did not speak or understand much english which is problem number 1. Problem number 2 I had to motion the lady to go get the other order after showing her on my phone I had 2 orders multiple times.. Problem number 3. Ordered some Wings on the app to try them out because i was prompted to do so.. After the Hispanic lady goes inside she send out a teenage black guy, he then tells me they are out of the wings i ordered. Huh ? Yes.. out.. and that I need to come inside to talk to the manager about it. Lets be clear that i ordered curbside for a reason because i was tired from working a 10 hour shift.. I then checked my bag and noticed that 1 of the 3 sides that i had ordered was cold. How are fries cold to the touch? With a barbecue order? Proceeds inside for the manager to tell me they are out of the wings that is on the app and i could get something else. I pondered and was understanding and instead of the smoked wings asked for 2 single legs and 2 single wings. However i could not get that because they dont make seperate pieces. At this point im lost and confused and just told the lady to give me whatever they had similar to what i paid for that they diddnt have. The Manager seemed chilled about the problem so that calmed me down quite ah bit untill i got home. One of the sides i ordered were collard greens with pork but this serving had no pork what so ever. How is this possible when thats what is marketed on the menu. Then thought to try the ribs which i asked for no sauce on that came with sauce. Theese were OLD RIBS. The texture was burnt and crispy on the outside like fried chicken! This place or Location in particular DO NOT GO TO. There staff has problems conducting regualr business practices due to the challenges of language and compression, and they serve old food. TRY A DIFFERENT LOCATION . OR TRY THIS 1 AND WASTE YOUR MONEY JUST LIKE I DID. I will be reaching out directly on the next business day for a full refund for both orders because this was a waste of time and money. If you love great barbecue, this restaurant should be on your list. I tried the pulled pork sandwich. First let me say, the portion was generous, the meat was piled high on the toasted bun. I added the original bbq sauce, but there are several heat levels when it comes to sauces. Next the sides, I had the creamy coleslaw, which by the way is shredded not chopped (my preference) let me just say it was delicious. My second side was the collard greens with pork seasoning, totally delicious with a little bite. All of the sides offered look amazing. The choices of meats, sides, and yes fresh baked sweet cornbread is also a side. The Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Dining in there are plenty of tables. Parking is more than ample. I totally recommend this restaurant for it delicious food and the prices are more than reasonable for the food portions. I hope you go and enjoy the food as much as I did. Bon Appétit 🥪🍞🍛🥗...Update...today I stopped by here for a quick lunch. They have a new platter called The Founders, which features pastrami and 2 sides, pickles, and a beverage. The pastrami is fresh sliced and the portions are still so generous. My (2) sides were baked beans and potato salad. Both were delicious and complimented my entrée perfectly. If you haven't tried this location off Poplar Level Road you are missing a treat. There is ample parking, carryout, and drive-thru. The Staff is very friendly and accommodating. GO EAT ENJOY!...

Stopped in randomly after an appointment and was pleasantly surprised. I'm usually a mission bbq person, so that's what they had to live up to.

I ordered the 2 meat sampler, which comes with 2 sides. It gets on my nerves when places have combos with no drinks. Just include it. 95 percent of people are going to get a drink. When I'm ordering a meal, I expect a drink to be included. Raise the price a couple of bucks and make the drink included. YES, I WANT A DRINK WITH MY MEAL.

I got the brisket and a jalapeño sausage. I liked that the sausage was scoured, and it had grill marks, so I know it was actually cooked on a grill. Plus, they didn't cut the sausage it half. It sat on the plate in all its sausage glory. It was great. The brisket was super tender and melted in your mouth. Very good.

Mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. It was super dry and just kind of bland. Might have been old. That's what I would assume by the taste. Potato salad was good. I enjoyed it.

There are a few sauces to choose from. I'm a spicy guy, so I enjoyed the brush fire sauce. I tasted a few of them. Don't remember the names, but they were all good.

22 dollars was kind of pricey for what I got. But it was decent food. The lemonade is great.

Food gets 4 stars for the subpar...
