The discrimination within this place is out of hand. Asking for any sort of basic respect results in further negative demeanor. I have been twice, one for small claims and one for a traffic stop. The place is very disorganized, there's no clear direction of where to go when inside unless you ask and they don't even allow you to bring in cell phones or provide warning in the mail.
If I had to take public transportation to the court house, I would get there on time but then be late because I have to go pay a store to hold my phone for me. There is no option to have it on silent. They refuse to let them in for even jurors.
They need more people within this court house, a better system that is more user friendly to everyone who works or goes into this courthouse. It was not fair for her to go without lunch and deal with these cases as fast as she was. I felt rushed with everything. I did not receive the money I was granted in January after my case was submitted in August. Now I have a payment review in May since the defendant did not pay me.
Their outlook on people who go into the courthouse who is not a lawyer or court personnel is a sarcastic and careless attempt to be politically correct or true helpers of the Lowell people. They don't want to change or take constructive advice. Help with anything other than their basic requirement from them is like pulling teeth. They don't know so they don't care, but they should at least refer people to those who might know the answers or someone with a better idea of how that system/program works.
When I contested my ticket, it was very disappointing to go into a separate room only to be talked down to, raised voices, sarcasm, and interruptions to express disagreements. I couldn't get my side of the story out because she instead decided to loudly read the officers typed version of the traffic stop. When I disagreed with the traffic stop stating my facts she seemed to only get more angry.
Maybe they need some team building exercises, more customer service training, a better understanding of how the court house should work within all departments. Not just knowing where the department is within the building. They definitely need a better human services training program.
They need some serious changes in order to prevent recidivism rates. If people feel like they're actually cared about, that their well being actually matters, they will want to give back to the community by staying away from the law. I know the crime rate is high in Lowell so residents categorize people and whose doing the crime. There's a lot of diversity that is also still considered minority to the city of Lowell. People don't feel criminals deserve respect but in the court house, that mentality should not exist in the courtroom. Diverse cuture other than white should not be looked at as minority, criminals, illegals, or state assistance freeloaders.
When I or anyone goes in there for answers or questions, they should take the time to listen to concerns instead of assuming they know exactly what is needed. The people who walk in to speak to the clerks office representatives should not be rushed, interrupted or argued with about not understanding policy. They need to know how to direct people & help them with their court needs instead of getting angry over someone simply being in the wrong line. They need to be more open minded to those with mental illness and learning disabilities. Not assume people are on drugs
They need to not schedule people to come into court at a certain time and then open the doors 30 minutes after that. They need to make sure their employees are coming in on time.

Read moreMy job takes me to several courthouses in the state to pick up docket sheets for clients.
So far, this one is without a doubt the very worst of them.
It is one of the few places where I cannot receive a docket on the day that I arrive. If you so much as mention needing a docket sheet, you always get a dull, "Fill out the request form and come back later."
I've seen at least two other courthouses in the entire state that do this, but Lowell is the only one that refuses to even let me know when they're ready for me to return. If I ask when to come back for my docket, all I get is a shrug. So, basically, all I can do is make the 1 hour drive back sometime in the future and hope that my request is ready.
I've never seen a courthouse staffed with people more reluctant to actually do their jobs. I'm more than happy to contribute my 1-star review to the ever increasing pile for this miserable excuse for...
Read moreI came here with questions and had the worst clerk ever. Her name is Olivia. So rude. If you’re not there to help, find a new job. Olivia handed me papers, then when I came back with the papers, she said it’s wrong, rudely. Then she walks away and sent Andrea to help.
Andrea was an Angel. She printed out papers that I needed, and explained the papers properly. She took her time.
I went to fill out papers, when I came back in Olivia was at the counter … her supervisor must’ve been back because her attitude was different. I asked for Andrea so I didn’t have to repeat the same things over. Little Olivia had an attitude and walked away telling who might’ve been her boss that “she didn’t want me.”
Olivia needs customer service training. She needs to learn a thing or two...
