We are so lucky to have such a nice mall in Cumberland County. I like how it's mostly "the same" as it always was growing up. I'm sure I am not the only one who senses a feeling of nostalgia while walking through the mall.
Today was the first time I was in the mall in years and it brought back a lot of memories. Even some of the old anchor stores are still in operation such as JC Penney, Spencer's, etc. I was happy to see the Shoe Depot was still in business. I bought my first pair of Vans there in high school. There are also some interesting newer additions such as the sock shop and Fuzzy Wall (music memorabilia, posters, Magic, D&D, incense, skateboarding gear, etc.). I'm also a big fan of H&M and I forgot that H&M recently moved in.
One thing I've noticed with other popular malls is that sometimes there are too many high end stores. Stores in this mall are mostly reasonably priced and thus more accessible to the average consumer. I think that is another reason why this mall is succeeding.
The food court has some good options including some of the old classics like Panda and Sbarro Pizza. Additionally, some of the newer places were offering nice looking food. Bonchon is a little pricey, but I am highly impressed with their fried chicken. Their employees are friendly as well.
Whoever is running this mall is doing a great job and should be commended. I hope they continue to keep things "the same" while also continuing to add interesting new stores and food court choices. I plan on...
Read moreGreat mall with all the space you need to keep a small child under the age of 3 entertained. All the stores we went to had wonderful staff and it took me right back to the early 2000s with all the nostalgia!
That said, I’m not a local or I’d post on the local Facebook page. But I do think it warrants a warning that when we visited today (5/12/24), a white dad wearing a cowboy-like suede hat and his pre-teen kid kept following us. We believe they were trying to pickpocket us. We moved in unconventional directions (women know what I’m talking about) to make sure we were being followed and weren’t being paranoid. I finally made intentional eye contact with the man and his child and they moved on to the next family.
If the dad is reading this, I am thoroughly disappointed that this is what you’re teaching your kid. You want a future for your kid? Let him learn to code to future proof his life. Tech internships (just a few years away!) at big corporations can pay $100k, man. What you did today is so...
Read moreThe mall was very busy, it’s nice to see this since malls seem to be dying out.
I brought my son for games at Dave and Busters and to paint at color me mine.
Once we finished painting we decided to browse the mall. Shorty after making it half way down, he started doing the potty dance and we were on the clock to find a rest room.
I had no idea that the building manager had a bladder of steel as there are only 2 restrooms in this mall at opposite ends!
Luckily, my son and I made it to the bathroom before I had to buy him a new outfit…or maybe that was your plan.
After Dave and Buster we headed to outback to eat lunch when I was almost t-boned in the parking lot!
There are no clear lines around this parking lot! A car speeding through the parking lot to get to Outdoor World almost hit me while I’m coming to stop at the stop sign! I’m so glad I don’t visit here often because I’d rather make to trip to Clarksburg than come...
