In 2015 I was greatly satisfied by the work they did on my engagement ring and wedding bands fast forward to July of 2023 my mother purchased me a 18k gold necklace that had my name on it something I’ve wanted all my life . When it arrived we opened it in pure shock my name is written so small you can barely see it , it hangs crooked and only had one hoop to adjust the length of the necklace which hangs to low . My mother asked for the largest sized name but feminine scroll never the words petite . This is the size of an infants necklace. It’s so disappointing. I was told to come over but they were positive the correct size was order yet it certainly was not . Here’s to hoping they actually perfect the problem when it was almost $500 for a necklace she could have had done a piercing pagoda for 250.00 or had she gotten silver it would have been 65.00 dollars the point is the size of the name on the necklace . You can barley see it let alone read it and the entire point is for it to be larger and visible . I’m praying they correct this or my mother and I will be hurt . My mom is on a fixed income and thought this was the only place that provided layaway she now knows there are many places that provide that . I feel so sad for her . I like it but it’s so small it looks fake almost . Here’s to Marvin Scott doing the right thing. He tried to say that’s their most popular size well that’s great but umm it’s about the size an infant would wear...
Read moreI cannot recommend Marvin Scott & Co. highly enough. While abroad in Egypt, my fiancé bought me a beautiful halo set engagement ring. When I brought it to Marvin Scott & Co. it had already had one stone replaced. They did a beautiful job but within a few days, another stone fell out. You may ask, why are you giving them five stars? I returned to Marvin Scott & Co. frustrated and they took the ring again. After about two week or so later, the ring still hadn't been finished. The first time I was there it only took a few days. I called to check on the progress.
They were super frank and open with me. He said he sees this problem regularly and that what the ring needs is a reconstruction of the entire face to secure all the stones. He said that it was taking so long because my insurance originally refused to pay for a full reconstruction. I had to laugh when he said, but I use the same company to insure the whole store and with the amount of money I pay them they better agree.
So while it took a while, the ring was well worth the wait. I meant to review much sooner since I was very pleased with the customer service but I am almost glad it slipped my mind, because now several months on, all the stones are still perfect. Marvin Scott & Co. really went above and beyond not just in service but in...
Read moreI went to Marvin Scott & Co in Yardley after a purported "expert" on Jeweler's Row in Philadelphia took my engagement ring apart, but couldn't put it back together again (at least not the way I asked for it to be done). I dropped my ring off at Marvin Scott on December 4th knowing that there was little hope to have it back by Christmas, but with the promise that they'd do their best (Note: original Jeweler's Row jeweler had the ring for 7 weeks before giving it back to me in pieces).
Not only did the jewelers at Marvin Scott return my ring exactly as I'd asked on December 23, they also were able to finish a sapphire pendant for me (and they told me how I could save money turning yellow gold into white gold settings).
I plan to go to Marvin Scott for all of my future...
