I was extremely apprehensive about wearing my own hair, but really wanted to, in this stage of my life. Years of back-to-back braiding, combined with recent high-stress life situations, took a toll on my hair, causing thinning, which made me feel like it was impossible to get a cute cut, and rock it confidently. After looking for options, I stumbled upon Sheena and QueenStylista's Mane Artistry on Instagram. Instantly, I knew that this was the place to go to achieve my hair goals. I was able to book an appointment through Booksy, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I shared my vision and goals for my hair, Sheena listened and took the time to assess where I was, and affirmed with me that she heard my vision, while assuring me that it's going to be "FUN." Additionally, the Kiaisha and Sierra are friendly, engaging, SUPER talented and skilled, and they all seem to genuinely LOVE what they do, and LOVE doing it, daily, TOGETHER -- That shows! Many of us are coming for healing, and it's hard to do that in typical toxic hair shop environments. You won't find that here...This shop is a "Good Vibes Only" atmosphere, and you can literally FEEL it. I drive from PG County, MD (2 hours) to come here, and the experience in the shop, as well as the outcome when you look in the mirror, before leaving the shop, make it worth it. Blessed hands, unmatched service, and uplifting atmosphere! I love QueenStylista's Mane Artistry!
I no longer drive to attend this shop, as I was happy with my initial visit, however, the follow-ups left lots to be desired. I deemed it no longer worthy of the...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience at this salon with Jamilah. I came in for a silk press and haircut, and despite showing multiple photos of what I wanted, the end result was a disaster. Jamilah never once mentioned that I didn't have the hair density to achieve the look I was aiming for, but instead assured me she could deliver. What I walked out with looked NOTHING like the style I requested, and to make matters worse, I was charged extra for it! Not only was the haircut awful, but the overall experience was just as bad. Jamilah was working on THREE other clients at the same time as me. I arrived at 10am and didn't leave until 4pm. That's SIX hours! I don't know if this is typical for them, but the lack of attention and care made the whole experience unbearable. If you're considering coming here, make sure you ask plenty of questions before committing to anything, because they won't tell you upfront if what you want isn't possible, and you'll end up paying for something you didn't ask for. I will not be returning to this salon.
UPDATE: Just washed my hair at home for the first time since the appointment and I have major heat damage. They do not care about natural hair here. Do not come here! Beware!! See the before and after...
Read moreToday I received a silk press by Felicia, she did an amazing job!! It was my first time visiting the salon and I was welcomed and greeted with a smile from start to finish. The receptionist was very kind and attentive. The salon is such a great vibe. Beautiful decor and clean. The entire staff was pleasant and had wonderful and welcoming energy. I’m so excited I finally found a stylist and salon that caters to natural hair and are very knowledgeable about products and services. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to feel confident and beautiful at the end of their service. Felicia was gentle with my hair and took her time. She explained the products she was using and the benefits throughout my service. We even talked about products I can use at home to maintain healthy hair until my next visit. Book the appointment, you...
