I hesitated to put this review because I REALLY wanted to love the experience, and I did end up getting my dress (which is beautiful and I do love). But, based on the whole experience, I wanted to give other brides a heads up that it very well may not be the perfect experience a lot of comments make it out to be.
To start, I am giving two stars because I got the dress I love and I got it at an affordable price. That is absolutely worth two stars.
But, the real issue was with the consultant and the spot they gave us for trying on the dress. We got there on time for our appointment, and they placed us in the absolute middle of the store, and had two other appointments going on as well - one in the window area, and one in the back area.
That wouldn't have bothered me so much, but since it was literally a fitting area in the middle of the room, there were consultants walking through the whole time going back and forth, which made it difficult to really find a way to stand in the dress and look in the mirrors, and have my family that I brought (which was within the allowed number) see it. We were placed in front of what I assume were mother of the bride dresses, and so it was just a very crowded and uncomfortable experience, with absolutely no privacy. I understand that it's a small shop, but if I had known it would be three brides at once in the shop, and that I'd be in the absolute middle of the store with the consultants walking back and forth, I would have requested a totally private appointment or a different day.
As for the consultant, as a person she was perfectly nice. And I do want to say that eventually she got the dress that I bought. That being said though, she seemed to be brand new (in fact she even told me she was new), and it felt like she was not listening to me AT ALL when I kept saying I didn't want anything form fitting in the hips, and she KEPT bringing me super tight dresses. I am big in the hips, and I said that so many times, and it felt like she wasn't listening at all. Nor did she originally ask me my price range so I finally had to tell her that some dresses were well above my budget.
Then, at one point (about 30 minutes into my 1.5hr consultation) she stopped pulling dresses. And when I asked why she said that "you have three maybes" and she's right - I did have three maybes, but none of them were ones that I loved, and I even said that to her. I then had to ask her two more times to keep pulling dresses and that we could definitely take some from the "maybe" group if having too many was an issue. I understand that they don't want brides with a whole bunch of maybe dresses, but I am very much the type of person that as soon as I put something on I know if I like it, and some I tried on so quick and disliked I didn't even go show them or zip them up.
But, the delays in pulling dresses meant that often I was just standing naked and uncomfortable in the dressing room (no robe provided in my stall, which I didn't think to bring tbh) until she would find another to give me. It often took quite a few minutes, and it just felt weird and made the experience super stilted that she stopped pulling dresses more than once, when we were going through them quickly. She did eventually listen to me, but my friend that came with me came over to the dressing area I was waiting in and even asked if I was okay, and if I wanted her to step in.
It was really just...a not great experience. Maybe if the place we had been set up had been better, or we had been working with a consultant with more experience, it would have been more enjoyable. But honestly, the combination of those things made for a not good and enjoyable time. I would not recommend this experience to...
Read moreI have taken a long time to post a review for this place because it was such a negative experience and I wanted to collect my thoughts and calm down before I posted a review. This was my first dress shopping experience and when I say this place was a nightmare for me, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I have since found a dress at an amazing store (Kimberly James Bridal in chestnut hill) but I feel that other brides should be prepared before coming to this store. My consultant repeatedly put me in A-line dresses after I specifically asked for a different shape. When I would state something I didn’t like about the dress, she would just put a tacky belt on it or say I could always pay to have the issue altered. I stated one of the dresses made me look broad and her response was “well, you are broad!” I am petite and no where near broad, but she did give me a new body dysmorphia issue! I cried during the consultation because I look horrible in A line and it was the only fit she was showing me! When I got the nerves to tell the consultant that I felt that she was not listening to my requests, the shop owner came out and in a defensive fashion stated “you’ve tried on everything we have, I’ve been listening the whole time. The reason she keeps putting you in A line is because we don’t have what you are looking for.” I then ended the consultation early. Frustrated that no one listened to me and my requests, still tried to make a sale by putting on a tacky belt after I complained about the shape, commented on my body in a negative fashion, and at the end of it all never had what I was looking for in the first place. This place is not professional and left such a bad taste in my mouth. I can’t express enough how poorly the consultant and shop owner were. I had a completely opposite experience at the very next shop I went to. I went to Kimberly James Bridal in chestnut hill and worked with Elise. They had a wide selection, great prices, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Brides! Avoid Sabrina Ann if wedding dress shopping is a stressor for you. They may make you leave feeling worse than you did before you stepped...
Read moreMy daughter called and got a rare opportunity to jump in to a next-day appointment due to a cancellation. We arrived for our appointment about 15 minutes early and we were greeted immediately by the most cheerful and bubbly host, I think we would’ve followed her anywhere, even to a dark basement, she made us feel right at home and was just so enthusiastic about life and the exciting venture of finding a wedding dress. Our consultant, Gabrielle, came right out to meet us and explain how the process would work. She quickly got a sense for my daughter’s style and our budget and she had dresses pulled from the rack for my daughter to start trying on within minutes. This was the first place we visited to look for a wedding dress and we are still in absolute awe that by dress number 4 my daughter knew her search was already over. How Gabrielle pulled out ”the dress” my daughter had dreamed about on the first batch of try-ons is just amazing to me. My daughter had a somewhat unique set of expectations and even searching online we didn’t come across anything that really fit what she was looking for. I was concerned that the style she had in mind might not even exist anywhere local. Within 1 hour of our arrival, we were leaving with the chosen dress and veil in hand. We even stayed within our initial budget. We were given two recommendations for local seamstresses and we already have our appointment scheduled in the next couple of weeks. Sabrina Ann’s was such a positive experience I cannot recommend this charming boutique and sweet and caring group of ladies enough. It was such a relaxed and stress-free environment. I thought we were in for weeks of exhaustive searching. I’m so happy they were our first and last stop! Mission accomplished! A big thank you from us to...
