I really feel they are going down hill fast. Since being bought out by Albertsons. Can't find the high priced specialty items I came for, and or organics are old or not instock. Since these are the reasons I shopped there, I'm mostly taking my business elsewhere. Customer service is still almost as good as before. But all service departments like floral, sushi, produce, fish, are completely different. We've quit buying the frozen fish & meat, from the meat market area, no more sushi, I order flowers from somewhere else. Typically I no longer spend my good money there after way too many trips that were a waste of time. And I had to go to natural grocers, costco, or even walmart to get what I was looking for. I used to spend a minimum of $300 per trip there 3 or 4 times per month. Now I just have my husband pick up occasional stuff as he is close to one at work. This necessitates me driving to at least 3 more stores, but while it doesn't save me time, it does save me money & the things I buy are in stock & fresh. I have several times tried to talk to the managers about the situation. While they have mostly been polite, they have been clearly not interested in my shopping desires, or dollars. I actually had two different managers at two different stores tell me that "the lubbock stores weren't cost effective if they had lots of organics in stock." Meanwhile walmart orders the boxed products & fresh produce every time I request it, & can find to speak with a area manager. I prefer to keep my shopping money local, but come...
Read moreThis is for the bakery and not at the store, butcher shop, or pharmacy. I went in Monday to get a cake for a friend. I asked for a cupcake cake. Now the woman, middle aged with black hair and glasses took the order. She didn't have a smile and seemed like she didn't want to be there. She asked what shape I would like it and I said what do you have. Because I just don't buy cakes everyday. She said "um we have birthday shape"... and then a long pause. She never said anything else about shapes again. I said okay I guess birthday. She said what flavor and I said chocolate. Well later after getting the cake, there was vanilla and chocolate. Not to mention the cake looked like it came from the 80s which is fine for an older woman, but my friend was turning 22. I was sadly disappointed by this experience and will consider whether to buy another cake here again.
My family and I have gotten cakes there for years for all occasions but this was just horrible service and a horrible cake. Not very accommodating employees, if I wanted that I could get it from walmart...
Read moreOrdered a cake from here for my 4yr olds birthday party. A simple Little Mermaid Cake. It was supposed to have a sugar sheet image on it and while it does have the image on there, it looks like a little child with safety scissors cut it out. It is not that hard to cut out a circle yet the employees couldn't manage to do it. I called to complain to them about it and the girl who answered already had an attitude about it and when I asked why they couldn't cut it out straight (as in smoothly) she said "well the image isn't straight". I said "it's a circle. You could've cut it in a circle instead of this. It looks like a child cut this out". She spit out the typical "if you have a problem with it bring it back and talk to the manager" response. I talked to the manager and he seemed to not care much about his employee being a rude little jerk. I will NEVER order a cake from this...
