PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ, YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DID!!!
If I could give zero stars or even negative starts I WOULD. First off the waiters don’t know the menu well however they were extremely nice. I asked what the difference was between Mexican cheese dip & Queso. I was told that the Mexican cheese dip was shredded melted cheese by the first waiter. She got confused and sent a different waiter and this waiter told me the Mexican cheese dip WAS queso. So I ordered the item b/c I wanted it to be queso. The food comes out and I promise you the reader of this review, they brought me a skillet with what seemed like runny watered down carnation milk or bubbling boiled water with a drop of milk for coloring all over the chicken. So I stuck a chip in the “queso” & it fell off the chip like i was sticking it in water. Of course, I send it back and express my concern to the waiter. Next her manager (a man) comes out and immediately speaks to me in the most disrespectful way saying “ we make queso all day for hundreds of ppl there is no reason you shouldn’t like it, nothing is wrong with it.” While he is talking a waiter comes out with what is still suppose to be “queso.” It Looked wayyyyy better but still runny with little flavor like they were trying to stretch it for the last 2 hours of the night. (Not sure who was in the kitchen but they needed the night off) But at this point the MANAGER has ruined my appetite with his complete disrespect. So I tell my waiter, I am not going to eat, and I proceed to leave. As I leave I am then followed by a cop named Mr. Camb or camp; something like that. He asked me to come back and talk to the manager. Who basically wanted me to pay full price for food I never consumed. Thank God for the officer. He truly helped and made the situation better. No money was spent out of my pockets thanks to him and his ability to see the big picture, relate, & understand. However, I was asked never to return to their location by the manager who was still in this moment very rude. He just laughed in my face as if he didn’t understand what was being said was not good or if he didn’t understand English although the does. He just didn’t care.
So my message to any consumer, PROCEED WITH LOTS OF CAUTION if you choose to eat at this establishment. You will pay at least 50% if the food is cooked and brought to your table. Be sure to read all signs posted before dining. I’m sure every night isn’t the same depending on the cook but BE CAREFUL if you’re...
Read moreWe chose this restaurant based on a memorable experience we had here 15 years ago and a craving for Mexican food. Unfortunately, the return fell far short of expectations.
Upon arrival, we were immediately put off by a sign on the door warning customers that even if they didn’t like their food, they would still be required to pay for at least half. The sign also admonished guests for “wasting food.” Rather than being welcoming, the message felt confrontational and off-putting—particularly for a restaurant that should be aiming to satisfy its customers, not threaten them.
Still, it was nearly 8 PM, and with most nearby restaurants closing at 9, we decided to stay. I mentioned the sign to the hostess, who responded by saying she personally loves the food and offered a few recommendations. While I appreciated the gesture, such enthusiasm is the bare minimum from staff—it didn’t ease my concerns.
Service was extremely slow, and things didn’t improve with the food. The nachos were stale, and while I’m not typically one to send food back, I decided to order safe, familiar items: empanadas and a watermelon margarita. Unfortunately, the margarita arrived without a rim and lacked any noticeable alcohol flavor. It felt more like a fruit juice than a cocktail.
Midway through our meal, we happened to run into an old friend who had just finished dining. As she was leaving, the hostess asked if she wanted a box for her leftovers. She declined, bluntly saying the food was “nasty”—a sentiment we found ironically validating.
Sadly, this visit was a letdown from start to finish. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and certainly won’t...
Read moreWe stopped by as we have before while passing through. We waited 5 to 10 minutes before being greeted and seated. After we were seated services was not up to par but we were understanding thinking maybe they were short on staff. We received our drinks. The margaritas are pretty basic, like what you buy from your local ABC store way too sweet and syrup...y . If you know your drinks and want something great this ISN'T the place for drinks. Food wasn't terrible it is your basic Mexican place. The problem I had was I was charged a tip of the servers choose for only 2 adults and a child for not even an hour way over $10. Our bill was under $100 and I was charged things I didn't order nor receive. My error was not looking at the receipt before handing the server my card. So when I went to sign I noticed the errors. The waiter was gone and no manager was there. There was a very nice young lady that tried to help us that was in charge but she couldn't do anything. She was even confused about the tip I didn't even have to mention it. She was 10 out of 10. I hate shes under such poor management. She called the manager to address the over charge of items his options to fix the problem where take food or drinks with us or wait for him!! Seriously!!! We still had an 1.5 hours to drive we definitely couldn't wait around for him and we already ate so we didn't want to take anything with us. So moral of this story is I messed up by thinking this was going to be an honest business. So please check your receipt before paying and don't trust the manager to care about you too make...
