This place was listed as an Apple "Authorized Service Provider" - but you may want to bring your Apple gears to the official store after hearing me out. I came into this store on 10:20 AM Sunday morning to do a cracked screen replacement with appointment, was quickly checked in and staff ran diagnosis on the phone which showed no other issues, was provided 1-3 hours of repair time and dropped the phone off. I left them wife's phone number and they also had my email address for contact - so far so good. However, there has been no progress on online repair status tracking for 6 HOURS and I called back only to know that the repair process was "STUCK" while running diagnosis after replacing the screen. The agent was saying "either your phone had problem before this or there's a bug in Apple diagnosis software", and "we contacted you to obtain approval for factory reset and left voice message". I mean do you REALLY have to blame customer or Apple to cover your incompetency? And what's so hard to reach out using my wife's number or email, instead of leaving a message and calling it done? I no longer trusted the agent over the phone and head into the store myself around 5PM - all they got to say is "Sorry, this is rare but can happen with a small chance". By 5:40 PM the agent told me "we are re-installing IOS on your phone; the progress bar is half-way through already". Next thing it is me writing this review with total frustration at 7 PM, still no notification from anyone. GOD KNOWS what they did to screw up the repair and how long they would still cover it up.
GET OUT!!! Go to the Apple Store!!! Don't make the same mistake by trusting...
Read moreGeek Squad had given my laptop that I had paid $600.00 to be refurbished by Microsoft to another customer. They had also given that customer my personal information. They did not ID the customer, as they would have realized they were not giving the correct product to the correct person. I was also NOT asked for my id when I had gone to pick up my laptop.
The person who had received my laptop in error called me and left me a voicemail to inform me she had my laptop. I was no longer comfortable with that laptop, as I am not sure who she had treated the product while she had it in her possession. Another customer with the same last name as me had picked up my laptop and returned it.
When I went to Geek Squad to pick up my laptop, they did not inform me of the error and tried to act like this did not happen. I then informed them I had the voice message saved and did not appreciate the dishonesty or the fact that my personal information was shared with another person.
The drive to the Best Buy is about an hour in traffic, as I have to go after work. The only solution they could offer me was to replace the laptop with another refurbished laptop that I would need to come back and pick up at a different time.
This had wasted my time (twice), money on gas, and once again, my personal information was provided to another customer.
Overall, the resolution/experience did not make me happy and was a huge...
Read moreThe geek squad is a joke. I've used them in the past because they're convenient, but never again. Just walked in to have them clean up my laptop. Should be a simple drop and pick up a few days later. Wrong. I didn't have an appointment. The young guy that was helping me asked if I had an appointment, I said no. He said that he had an appointment coming in, then asked the lady waiting behind me if she had an appointment. She said no. After turning her away he asked if I could come back later. I said no. I work in sales and I'm always of the opinion that your best customer is the one in front of you. So they're willing to turn away or push off guaranteed business for the hope that an appointment shows up? Ridiculous. Forget you geek squad and in turn, Best Buy. There are PLENTY of tech stores and IT guys out there. You lost another...
