A True Community Gem!
This board game cafe is an absolute treasure. What I love most is that it's more than just a place to play games; it's a genuine community space where people can gather, connect, and have a fantastic time. The staff are wonderful. Every single person on the team makes the space feel so welcoming. And a special shout-out has to go to Sean, one of the owners. He's constantly busy making sure everyone is having a great experience, but he always finds time to sit down and chat for a bit. He's also a Klask master! Sean has given all my friends and me free 1:1 lessons, patiently teaching us the ropes. He even has a surprise in store if you manage to beat him.
The environment is chill, laid-back, and lively. It's the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy some quality time. I also really appreciate all the events they host. They're a blast whether you're going with your regular group of friends or looking to meet new people.
This board game cafe is so much more than a business; it's a vital and cherished part of our community. It truly provides a unique and much-needed safe space for connection...
Read moreThe tall lean guy with long hair and docile cat, who apparently likes to read, is really nice. He oozes friendliness, and warmth. The head honcho is really cool, too. I'm sorry I don't remember either of your names! Head Honcho (ha!) and I talked about Klask, it's game design, making an inviting place, and how important is it to engage the young folk. They were both really genuine, and were happy to talk about their hobbies.Really good interactions.
With Lynnwood getting more expensive, and commercial, it feels like it's getting less inviting. It's definitely the right time to have a third space for people to play games, and relax. I'll be splitting my time (and money) between here and the Bothell location.
Buy you boxes, boosters, binders, sleeves, singles, and toploaders at your LGS, ya all. Name another retail store where more than half the space is dedicated to YOU, dear gamer. You are free to come into that space, not spend anything, and enjoy yourself. So, when you do spend money on gaming stuff, spend it here. It's cool that Fred Meyer has Commander decks, but come here. They're literally...

Sean, the owner, has created an incredible community here at Zulu’s Board Game Cafe. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or just looking for a fun time, this spot has it all. The game selection is unmatched—tons of games you can play for free, and even a copy of Blood on the Clocktower (which is rare to find anywhere!).
They’ve got drinks for everyone, too—yummy boba, non-alcoholic options, and a great selection of alcohol if that’s your vibe.
Sean’s hospitality really makes the experience. He’s not just the owner—he’s a world-class Klask player. I went head-to-head with him, and while I didn’t win, he taught us some great strategies. I almost scored 3 points—so close!
The space is massive! Whether you’re coming with a small group or planning a large event or tournament, they’ve got room for it all.
Seriously, can’t say enough good things about this place. If you’re in Lynnwood and love games, you have to...
