I am very eased with this restaurant. My coworker and I tried this olace for the first time a few days ago. We are BOTH happy we gave it a try.
THE DRINKS: The alcoholic beverages are reasonably priced in my opinion. My coworker ordered something that gave her 4 or 5 shots of different flavored drinks for less thank 20 bucks. I ordered this delicious Georgia Peach moonshine beverage for 8.00 it was sooooooo good that I drank!
THE FOOD: The taste of food is a personal preference. With that said... We ordered appetizers (Fried pickles, pretzels, fried ribs) The fried pickles are the BEST I've every had. They are actual spears. The breading was so delicious and actually stuck to the pickle. Seasoned just right. The pretzel was a little overcooked for my liking, but my coworker ate all of it. The cheese sauce that it is served with is delicious. The fried ribs, were very overcooked and hard. I didn't complain or send it back. I just wanted to try things to see what I like and what I don't at certain restaurants. For our entrees, I ordered the 3 meat meal that cost approx. 32.00. I had wings, brisket, and ribs. The ribs were tasty. Nuce meaty and tender. I just thought they could have used more seasoning and I gave my daughter my leftovers when I git home and she agreed about the seasoning as well. The chicken was delicious I got the dry rub. The brisket was in fact tender and cooked just right. I had a side hotlink.... there was nothung hot about it I thought it was tasty, but just a tad too salty for my liking. The sides that I ordered were potato salad and fries. Let's just say I'll never order the potato salad again. I just didn't like anything about it at all. The fries were so so good. They have the texture of the New KFC fries. My coworker even raved about the fries. The cornbread was okay. I've had better. My coworker ordered the pulled chicken burger and ate every last bit of it. The chicken was piled high in her burger. The portions are generous which is great.
THE SERVICE: Only 2 servers were working the floor. Surprisingly service moved fairly quickly and we didn't wait long. Our server was ARI (not sure of spelling). He was very friendly. He suggested things from the menu for us to try. He checked on us frequently. The other server saw us fanning ourselves and said she would check the AC. Just nice attentive people.
THE ATMOSPHERE: Very clean. Nice homey feel. It was well lit and the noise level wasn't bsd. It can be enjoyable for the whole family. We noticed quite a bit of seniors frequent this restaurant. The outdoor seating area was setup nicely. However, we chose to dine in.
OUTCOME: YES, I recommend this place. I will definitely go back for more. I spent 100.00 including tip just for myself, but I know BBQ is expensive. Keep in mind that 24.00 of that was spent on alcoholic...

Parking: Small parking lot Pet friendly: Unsure – they have an outdoor area so maybe Family friendly: Yes
FOOD: Luc’s Poutine (Fresh fries topped with smoked beef gravy, cheese curds, green onion, and choice of meat for $) $9.00: 3 Stars – I love a good poutine since I love sauce but this was kind of meh for me. The fries were really good but the gravy was okay (no smoke taste and kind of bland)… and I would probably have loved it more if the cheese curd was also fried (which yes, I know its not traditional).
Fried Pickles Chips (Dill pickle spears blanketed in a cornmeal breading, served with ranch dressing and red pepper aioli) $8.00: 5 Stars – Super hot when it arrived so nice to know it was made “fresh.” Great flavor, quantity for the cost is amazing, but my only annoyance is the name says “chips” but its spears…
Kid’s Mac and Cheese: This was probably one of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. It was creamy, a touch of pepperiness, and perfectly cooked pasta. How good was this? My husband and I were stealing pasta from our kid LOL
Wild West Burger (Beef patty, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, frizzled onion, XXX-BBQ sauce, chipotle BBQ aioli, garnish with roasted jalapeno) $18.00: 5 Stars – This was probably one of the best burgers I’ve had. The patty was juicy but not like so fatty. I loved their little kick from either their XXX BBQ sauce or the aioli but it was just enough. ::Chef Kiss:
Brisket Bleu Burger (Smoked beef brisket, grilled burger patty with blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese aioli, topped with frizzled onions) $17.00: 5 Stars – My husband down this so quick! I did not taste it since I am hands down on the no-bleu train. He is one of the pickiest burger person I know LOL
MENU/RESTAURANT: They have a great size menu for such a small place. I actually through it was going to be BBQ and nothing else. They did have BBQ but they have a pretty good mix of other things that everyone can find something… well maybe not if you’re vegan..
This place is small… like tiny but they fit in as many seats/table/booths as possible. It is a true divvy bar that you can easily see bikers frequent but with hockey décor everywhere so I can imagine how fun/packed this place will be during hockey season. They have an outdoor area that is the same size as the whole restaurant – which tells you how big the area or how small the restaurant is 😊
SERVICE: They are super friendly even though they are busy! When we went there was two waitress and one bartender managing everyone. My only fault I can think of is having a sign that says “Seat yourself.” As this was our first time and they were busy, we had no idea if we could just grab a...
Read moreAn Ode to the Ribs at Moonshine BBQ, Lynnwood
In the heart of Lynnwood, Washington, there lies a sanctuary of smoky flavors, a place where the craft of barbecue ascends to artistry—Moonshine BBQ. Here, amidst the gentle hum of friendly conversations and the clinking of glasses, I encountered a dish that whispered tales of passion, patience, and a profound understanding of culinary alchemy: the ribs.
These weren’t mere ribs; they were a testament to the tender mercies of fire and time. Each rib, like a carefully penned verse in an ode to camaraderie and the simple joys of existence, held within its fibers the essence of a shared human experience. The meat, succulent and rich, slid off the bone with the ease and grace of dear friends parting after a long, heartfelt embrace. It was a moment of release, reminiscent of the bittersweet sensation of letting go, a grasp unclenched not in farewell but in the promise of future reunions.
The ribs at Moonshine BBQ spoke of a love affair between smoke and meat, a slow dance that lasted hours, perhaps even days, culminating in a crescendo of flavors that lingered on the palate long after the meal was over. Each bite was a reminder of the power of forgiveness, of the gentle art of releasing that which we hold dear, not with sorrow but with gratitude for the shared moments.
As I savored the rich, smoky flavors, it became evident that these ribs were not merely cooked but were crafted with a reverence for the ingredients and a deep understanding of the culinary traditions that inspired them. The sauce, a symphony of sweetness, tang, and spice, clung to the meat like a cherished memory, enhancing but never overpowering the natural flavors of the pork.
Dining at Moonshine BBQ was akin to being welcomed into a warm, loving home, where every dish served was a gesture of hospitality and every flavor told a story of community, tradition, and the endless pursuit of perfection. The ribs, in their sublime tenderness and depth of flavor, were a reminder of the fleeting nature of time and the importance of savoring the moments that bring us joy.
In Lynnwood, under the watchful eye of the moon’s silvery glow, there is a place where magic happens, where the mundane is transformed into the extraordinary through the alchemy of barbecue. Moonshine BBQ, with its unassuming charm and dedication to the craft, has redefined what it means to experience truly great BBQ. The ribs, in their exquisite tenderness and flavor, are not just a dish but a journey—a poignant reminder of the beauty of release, the warmth of friendship, and the enduring power of good food to bring us together.
So, to those who wander in search of flavors that stir the soul, I say: venture to Moonshine BBQ. There, among...
