Aparently, this hotel has been redone some within the last year. The entire place has been repainted, and every shred of carpet has been removed and exchanged for tile and wood like flooring. They have definitely tried to update the rooms to the 21st century. checking in was pretty easy.the worst part is that the receptionist speaks extremely broken English, plus wearing a mask made it very difficult to hear her words. she is definitely a foroner. Your key card for your room is also used when you get into your room to stick into a control center that activates the power to most of the room One thing we don't agree with is that we saw several people having animals in the hotel; just let there dogs or cats stroll down the halls or at the pool like it's the most natural thing. ALSO children At the pool playing around with the handicapped pool chair like it's their own personal toy! We watched the receptionist, come in several times to enter into whatever room there is inside the pool room, and she'd carry on without a care in the world that kids are messing with the handicapped equipment. not saying a single thing. To them OR to their guardian who had his nose the entire time stuck in his phone. The next morning, we voiced our concerns about these issues with the morning staff at the entrance desk. They agreed with us, but who knows IF they actually take any action.. The pool and the hot tub are nice. It's interesting, though, that there are no clocks anywhere. So bring your own watch or phone so you can keep track of time. Another thing we noticed is that despite the update for the hotel, the elevator; though usually pretty quick, was left out of the update. Most of the push pad floor buttons don't light up anymore, and some of the plastic from them is broken or entirely missing. Just little observations for an otherwise mostly nice try at remodel. Another interesting thing about this hotel: just outside therr front doorway across from the front parking is major city construction for building like an overpass that when completed will LITTERALLY about sideswipe the front corner of the hottel and definetely other businesses across the roads will probably have to get torn down. How great that will be! Oh_ and if you don't like crowds of people. Stay away from the breakfast on Sunday morning. OMG, the place was swarmed with every person in the hotel, all trying to reach and grab for their food; if hadn't had other things to do, would've been much easier to get breakfast driving down to the local jack in the box or whatever fast food chain is around. People bumping into others trying to sit there and eat, crying, screaming kids, parents in a rush to grab whatever they can and reaching over 5 other people there already in line, and others with big baggy coats sideswiping people's tables _running their jacket over the people's8 food on there occupied table. Contents of breakfast like the sausages, eggs and gravy not replenished fast enough; then when it finally did come,...
Read moreI want to preface this by saying that the 3 star is solely in hopes that this will grab the attention of someone that can rectify or prevent future customers from having this experience. This was a return visit after a rather negative experience the first time (broken bed, dessert ingredients in the fridge and a drawer) and having to move rooms that was on a separate floor. Repack and move to a "pet-friendly" room that was much more "lived in" and worn... Though there were no leftover food or ingredients, and the bed wasn't dipping through the frame and onto the floor. I was compensated for this not-so-enjoyable experience in the form of a discount should I give them another chance.... I did I try to change my scenery and book an overnight escape from Quarantine on my one single night off from work and wish to not be stuck at home. So I get junk food and bring a laptop and streaming device. I tip the housekeepers, I make pleasant small-talk with the hosts and front desk (very friendly) staff, (who I also tip) So I gave them another shot.. Like I said, it's my one night off. I stay up late. Binge Netflix and snack on things that will probably be the death of me. What happens? I just get unpacked and settled. Laptop is charging after using it all day on the road at work for a job assisting the city of Bothell and the Bothell Fire Department. Tv is tuned to livePD Phone is charging and almost dead, scrolling on Facebook mindlessly. Bam! Power goes out. Now I'm just sitting there. Regretting even paying the place more money (albeit at a discount) to sit in the dark while I could do the same thing in my room or closet at home.. Needless to say, after spending nearly 350 dollars at this location, I've not had any semblance of a "pleasant stay" or felt as though my experiences were worth the trade off of 350 dollars. The only thing that was constantly amazing were the night shift employees, Hailey and I forgot the other hostess' name, even the morning housekeepers were kind and professional, smiling at all times. Hence the tip, they don't get thanked enough. Michael, a boss/manager was also very quick to respond when the power went out and handled the other tenants with respect and confidence all while tending to the emergency. Very impressed. I'm not upset with the staff by any means, I just wish I could relate to the 5 star...
Read moreThis review contains 4-5 different stays: Finally, my most recent stay on their 5th floor was rewarding, great, modern, super clean, renovated, and very nice for the value. Breakfast is always great. In-room coffee maker would not turn on, but other than that, super nice stay on a quiet floor, 5th. This time I slept peacefully.
After 20 years of staying in LaQuinta, I can give the review with no hesitation. The toilet in a different room, on a different stay clogged, just like before. Radhia is a spectacular housekeeper. The rooms are cleaner, so her team/co-workers are really on the ball. It hasn't been this clean in a couple of years.
The pillows were flat in one of the rooms, but my next stay - a different room had two out of five pillows that were fluffy. So they could order nicer pillows for the rooms.
Top notch customer service, but during peak hours 3-5 pm on Veterans Day, they could have used two reps at the counter. The people were lined up to the elevator and some sat in the lounge area waiting. Holiday weekends always need two people. The outlet connected to the desk area came out completely when I plugged my laptop in, I looked closely and it just needs a screw, but startled me when it just fell out completely when touched/plugged. In my room the heater did not work, I reported it to the front desk rep who is swamped, and left a message for the manager. The TV lagged in our old room, but our new room it worked much better. Same great breakfast, and same caution for animals - some owners forgot to keep a leash on at all times. Small kids are at hotels and the elderly - we must keep man's best friend under control for everyone's safety.
The new look after the small fire is very modern and chic. Improvements are forthcoming, you can tell, just please make sure fluffy pillows are in every room, mixed because I know some folk only like flat pillows. After twenty years of LaQuinta I became spoiled to clean rooms, great pillows, heaters working, and...
