Me and my wife go here every weekend almost. It’s her “go to” place when she feels like getting out and shopping. Last visit was very different. There was a part time employee that was working in the back, and when my wife went to smell a scented product, the lady lashed out at her as if she was a toddler telling her not to do that, that she wouldn’t want someone to have smelled the product if she was buying it. My wife tried to show and explain to her it didn’t hurt anything and she didn’t open it and she lashed out again as if she was 3 yrs old. The lady at the counter was very apologetic and embarrassed. We wrote to Apple Annie’s website in the contact section regarding the issue and no one has reached out. So if you plan to go, DONT go on Mondays and Wednesdays. That is when this said individual works we were told, and also, know that your supporting a company that doesn’t care enough about their customers to even reply out of common courtesy when an issue has risen due to the way their staff treats the customers. No apology, no recognition, nothing. Like it didn’t even matter. So me as a small business owner, and my wife, we will not be back because we know that even though it’s very nice products, we won’t be supporting a company that doesn't respect their customers enough to even reach back out and apologize when their staff has treated them this way. Impromptu is almost identical in the same products, so if you have been treated the same way we were, we have found this store and it’s more local to the Gluckstadt area as well! I HATE drama, but after giving them a week to reach back out regarding this issue, I felt the need to post this to help anyone else that has experienced this as well as saving anyone else the heart ache of being treated this way. So if it’s your first time going; DONT go on Mondays or WEDNESDAYS. Because I promise if that lady is there and it’s your first time, you won’t be wanting to go back after that...
Read moreI grew up in Mississippi and one of my favorite stores has always been Apple Annie’s, for the clothing and accessories, Christmas gifts for family and friends but mostly for the gourmet food items that my family traditions have always been based on from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day. I married into the military and moved away years ago but come back each year to relive those old traditions but have failed year after year. I tell my husband about Apple Annie’s and our traditional dips, soups, cheese balls, etc., but for the second year, we’ve driven 40 miles out of the way from my family home during the holiday season to shop based on online store hours only to find that the store is closed with a hand written sign on the store door. Once again, we’ll be going to Kroger and making whatever of the above mentioned items we can find but next time, we’ll cross Apple Annie’s off of our list of things to do that we once looked forward to. I understand holiday hours completely, and even not being open the entire duration, but an impromptu sign on your door is an incredible inconvenience to your customers when we travel miles to carry out tradition and live in an age of online knowledge. We like Donna’s Produce and will continue our family traditions there rather than traveling the journey across town to a store who claims to be open until meeting a hand written (and very unspecific) sign that states, “we are closed for the holiday and will...
Read moreThis place is awesome in so many ways. Today was my first visit to Apple Annie’s and I will definitely go back. Customer service is a huge thing for me and if it is lacking (and I can find the same things elsewhere), I’ll go elsewhere. NOT the case here. I was immediately greeted and made to feel welcome and that they were happy I was there. My little girl loved the ladies working there and they entertained her while I looked around which was incredibly nice of them to do. Above and beyond customer service. They have sooo many things to look at, all beautifully displayed, that you are bound to find something for yourself or for a gift and all with reasonable prices. I also like that they have items from local artists which means you can find something unique for someone. I knocked out some early Christmas shopping and could have done more! My new fav...
