I'm updating my review after reading your comments as the owner. I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about in your unprofessional, obviously unfounded accusations! Maybe you have us mixed up with another party. We were a party of 8 with a reservation at 12 and was there on time! No one, at any time, refused to pay any amounts on the bill or challenged your menu! Your staff was only asked to RECOOK a 10 cent tomato! As a matter of fact, the entire party, including the lady that your manager was so rude to by stating she was "just following the rules", tipped the waitress! Please tell me who goes to a restaurant and behave in the manner that you describe in your response and still tip at least 20%!? It's truly sad that you as an owner, have absolutely, positively NO training in customer service! I see why you would condone Dee's lack of CS cause she obviously got her training from you! I will not even entertain anymore of your hideous comments you made that are emphatically untrue! Everyone in the party were mature, educated and sophisticated people! We definitely wouldn't go to ANY restaurant and behave in the manner you described in your response! Now, I will say, we were beyond shocked that your establishment wouldn't honor a simple request to recook a 10 cent tomato! This wasn't a request to recook a $40 steak or even a $30 piece of fish! No, this was only a 10 cent tomato! Really!!? You will go this far to insult your customers to defend your ridiculous point of "your standards" to not recook a simple, cheap and let's not forget, burnt order of tomatoes?! Why you would offer your phone number and email, I have no clue! The world should know how ridiculous you are as an owner! I won't give you the luxury of discussing anything with me concerning your horrid service privately! Also, I dont spend my money where it isnt welcomed! I definitely won't spend it anywhere that the owner doesnt have a clue on how to treat his/her patrons! I certainly will hope that your wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, etc., will never have to go to a restaurant and endure so much disrespect from the manager and then the owner! Maybe you should take a page from the book of some of your competitors in your industry and surrounding area!
We had a birthday celebration at this restaurant in our party ordered tried green tomatoes, which were burnt! She asked the manager for a re-cooked order because she didn't want them cooked so dark, burnt! The manager response was that since the order was cooked to their specifications, she will not be able to take the order off the ticket. No one asked her to take the order off the ticket. The manager was asked if she could have the order re-cooked to meet the satisfaction of the customer. Now, I dont know where this manager was trained but obviously her training didn't include that the customer is always right. Why wouldn't this manager simply have the order re-cooked, if nothing more than to satisfy a customer? Also, why would a customer be forced to pay for something that doesnt meet her satisfaction? The manager also said she is just following the rules. I would like to know who's rules are so non-customer service?! This situation is a perfect example of what any establishment should never want any patrons to witness. I will admit, I have dined at this establishment a few times in the past and left being a satisfied patron but I will think twice before going back. Fortunately, when the waitress (I think her name was Whitney) came to pick up the checks, she stated that she had taken care of it! Finally, someone in this establishment displayed some common sense because the manager clearly doesn't have a clue as to how to promote any level of customer service! Ms. Dee, the manager, you should be ashamed to call yourself a manager!
BTW, the patron was 77 yrs old! How dare you mistreat...
Read moreA friend of mine and I visited this last Saturday ,the food was great! I had not been to this restaurant in many years, yet it has not lost its charm!
We started off our meals with a salad, I ordered the Caesar and my friend ordered the house. They were very fresh but I needed more dressing.
Next was our entrees. My friend ordered the pork loin with Creole seasoning, shrimp, and crawfish. It was superb and plentiful. I got the chicken alfredo and added shrimp. I like my food with a little kick and thought I would have to get some red pepper flakes, but the pasta was seasoned perfectly 🥰
As the neighboring table had libations brought to then I saw a drink that caught my eye. I asked the bartender what it was and could he make a similar drink, but with pineapple juice... no problem. As with everything else, it was delicious 😋
We were almost too full for dessert, but we got some anyway. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake, which came with an Oreo crust. This was the only thing that I didn't particularly care for. The juice from the strawberry made the crust soggy, and the strawberry topping was not sweet, in my opinion. My friend loved it.
I decided to get another dessert, the strawberry Key Lime pie. Now, this was a seriously scrumptious pie! Perfectly tart and sweet with homemade whipped cream 😋
All in all, this restaurant receives a 5 out of 5.
Dee, the manager in duty, was helping out in whatever capacity that was needed. She was ultra nice and genuinely concerned if we enjoyed our meal.
The wait staff all worked like a fine oiled machine. They worked together to make sure every patron got their food in a timely fashion.
I am very picky when it comes to eating out and expect stellar service when I do dine out!
Kiss 💋 the cooks and many thanks to the entire staff...run don't walk to Strawberry Café! Even the...
Read moreI was very disappointed today with the manager regarding my order. I ordered the onions rings because I saw them on a couples plates sitting at the bar. They were big and appetizing. When I got my plate, I was disappointed because my onions rings were very small. I had approximately 6 very small onion rings, and they were not fully battered the way they should be making them soft and limp. I let our waiter know I was not pleased. The wait staff was polite, but when the manager came out he being overly defensive of the food. He was passive aggressive and was just trying to prove his point and be right. I decided to send my order back and I thanked the manager. After I handed him my plate and told him that’s okay, thank you. I thanked him multiple times. He continued to stand at our table hold the late. He was very argumentative and was trying to explain to me how onions are. I am a cook so I didn’t need an explanation. He continued to talk, saying to the others at the tables that he didn’t feel they did anything wrong. I have visited and supported this establishment many times. I’ve never had a bad experience until today. The day, I met the manager. I was on a date with my daughter for Mother’s Day and I didn’t get to eat lunch. Although I did enjoy the spinach dip. The tortilla chips are always delicious. As I was walking out another patron stated they felt the same way about the onion rings, but they just didn’t say anything. I am also a business owner, and I know that the customer, in most cases, are right! Be nice! It’ll take you further than trying...
