My family and I eat something from Fusion (usually take out) at least once a week. It is the reason "chicken and rice" is my three year old's favorite meal. I can't vouch for the Japanese cuisine as we have always ordered off the Thai menu, but the food is excellent and has a homemade quality that is inviting and endearing. Take out is convenient, but the food is even better when eating in. I've eaten at Thai restaurants in Boston, Denver, and Chicago that couldn't hold a candle to our hometown fare. Our favorites are Pad Prik, Prik Khing, Spicy Basil, Cashew Nut, Garlic and Pepper, and Lama Five. We usually get chicken, but the beef and shrimp are good too. I like mine hot (Thai hot can be a bit much), but most people will probably be happy with mild or medium.
Although it is no longer on the menu, if you request "Ant's Roll" sushi, the kitchen will make it for you. It is shrimp tempura, crab meat, seaweed, white rice, and avocado with an eel sauce, and even though it is cooked sushi, it is excellent, and a meal unto itself.
Brooke, a long-time server at both locations, has become a friend who knows my wife and me by our voices on the phone. When we used to go out of our way to visit the Lakeland location during a rushed lunch hour, we would call Brooke and she would have our meal waiting for us on a table when we arrived.
Fusion is not only our favorite restaurant - it is our favorite restaurant of all time. It may sound corny, but it is a part of...
Read moreNice laid back place. My colleagues and I visit it every week or two for lunch or dinner. The place is quiet and I have never seen it fully packed, but that is not a bad thing! Maybe many people haven't heard of it, I dunno...
They have a pretty decent variety in the menu; this includes Thai, Japanese and Indonesian cuisine. I haven't tried much of the Japanese food (things like sushi and eel are a bit too exotic for me) but the Thai and Indonesian food is good. You can opt for spiciness as per your palate - they offer Mild, Hot, and Thai Hot (and double Thai Hot on request). If you do opt for Thai Hot your servers will ask you if you are sure you want that. When they say hot they mean hot!
If you are looking for an authentic Asian setting this is not the place. They make good food and that is sufficient for me.
Serving time is a tad slow (or maybe that's just me, I admit I am quite impatient) but if you are going with a large group make sure you call in advance and let them know.
Like I said earlier I have never seen this place packed. But the food is good, spicy, filling and worth what you are paying. What more can...
Read moreWorst experience EVER!!! My family an I always come here for Dinner. The owner/waitress usually knows what we order and how we order our items. Today, we decided to have dinner there with my husband and children, and had the worst experience EVER!! Everything was going fine until our check arrived, and we noticed a small error on the bill. We decided to approach the waiter as any normal human wound and he immediately called for the owner/ manager. She started asking questions about the items and immediately became rude and offensive. I told her this wasn’t right and how we come here all the time and she just started talking back and being so rude. I told her I will never come back here again and she replied by saying “THAT’S FINE, IT’S OKAY” multiple times. As an owner/manager you should always respect your customers or just respond by saying “I’m sorry, I will get it fixed.” Instead, she was extremely rude...rude isn’t even the word to describe her today by the way she treated us and her staff.
For a 6.00 correction on the bill...this mistake costed her business at least $500/month ($6,000/year)!
Will never...
